I tried it on a Warden multiple times, but it sucks. There are simply better sets out there.

IF they really want to create Pet Stamsorcs, then they should add a necropotence set for stam builds.

Either it's bugged or it's just a joke, but with 38k stamina I have a tooltip with 1300 DPS. And that's for an ability that takes 2 slots. LOL No, thanks.

Using clannfear on PTS is a huge DPS loss

Even with Curse (67% uptime), logs show (self buff, 3M skeleton):
Headbutt 775.8 DPS
Tail Spike 278.5 DPS

On the other hand the new Bound Armaments: 3,638.5 DPS ... for 1 slot

To be fair, the reason to run the Clannfear is for the soft taunt and the burst heal, not the damage ...

Don't forget to budget in the Clannfear's ability to heal you based on your max health. It's still a Self-Healing ability with some passive damage that also allows benefiting from a couple of class passives. Now, whether that means anything to you or not is probably more of a personal matter.

The problem I have with this approach is that if they want to give a class an identity, it must be something (almost) all sorcerers want to use. That's why it's called identity - it's something that is commonly used on that class, or the class is known for it and you can't have it on another class. You can recognize the class by this skill. For example Hurricane is the identity of stamSorc, but it doesn't synergize with other skills, so it's not enough on its own.

We can use pets on stamsorcs even now, it just scales with Magicka. Giving us stam version of pets without any significant DPS boost is pointless. It doesn't change anything. Only role players will use it.

Moreover, since always, THE healing ability for DPS sorcerers was Surge. Not Matriarch (though it worked well on magDPS), not Clannfear. And it won't change, because Health based heal for DPS is too weak for it's cost. It's worthy for tanks, but not for stamina DPS.

The soft taunt is nice, but it works only when solo and it's quite unreliable.

So if pets are about to be stamSorc identity, it must be worthy to use them, otherwise it's failed attempt.

For tanks the clannfear is great. You can live without it, but the two slots are worthy. Max Health passive + regen passive + Burst heal and if you pair it with Hunt Leader set, it's also ultimate sustain.

Surge procs from criticals, and tanks have low critical rate. The setup works great for dungeons with a lot of mobs, but it stops working in trials. And that's where clannfear steps in.
