🚫Devs: why are you allowing questions about wow on the forums?🛇

I played wow myself back in the day so I'm not anti-wow. I was a member on the forums when I played that game years ago.

Now I am playing eso and on the eso forums and I dont expect to see posts about wow. I get it that people will make remarks about other games but not whole posts.
I need you to explain if this is ok and how please.

I don't think it's right to make posts comparing eso to other games.

If this is allowed then I should be able to compare eso to game of thrones or other tv shows as I please without expecting to get my post closed down?

Please explain to me how these forums work because so many other threads get closed down and yet wow ones dont? How do they not break the forum rules?

Why are people deliberately missing my point? Read the question properly and stop trying to berate me.

Thank you .

Based on personal experience from other games, wow fanatics drag their "most successful since the universal explosion" game anywhere. I watched their strained groans in archeage, bdo , la2,eve online, aion and now in eso.
They don’t give a damn where to write about their "best game in the world and everyone just envies her."
I don’t care if the moderator gives me a ban on this forum, but I’ll say, I’ve never met a more impudent and unscrupulous community in relation to others, as in the “most interesting game since the Qin dynasty”.

The bans, and lock downs are rarely about the topic, but more often the comments. A typical reason for a post delete (if I remember right it just go super hidden) is shaming and naming, also racist or other sensitive poltical topics could be a reason.

There are posts about real life hobbies, tv shows, also there were topics where they discussed what can you play during maintanance and during bad performance. But often a balance topics could go very toxic (x class says y class is op so nerf them y says otherwise z says atleast you had some goodtimes because they are bad since 2008), so altough they are ESO related the toxicity is to high for devs to let it continue.

Altough I think if WoW topics will be much more frequent then they will do something about it, but in the current state it is in the tolerated zone.

It provides valuable feedback on a competitor. ZOS gets to hear first hand from their customers what they think about a competitive product. They get to hear about ESO strengths, things they want to maintain and exploit. Conversely they get to hear about weaknesses. This is opportunity to make changes to improve the game even further.

Customer input is extremely valuable to a developer and that's exactly what they are getting by allowing playing to discuss and compare the two products.

Probably, the game has had a smooth launch, it’s getting rave and positive reviews from all the game and mmo web sites and syndications. The only issue they have is a login que because they have so many players, but that’s a good problem to have! Blizzard will fix that problem quickly they are already preparing to add more servers to handle it, should be done before the end of the week.

I love ESO as a game, but they have just shot themselves in the foot too many times. They didn’t get out in front of their performance problems and just like the lighting patch debacle back in 2014 where according to some metrics they lost 400,000 paying subs due to letting it fester for two months.

Do I think ESO will survive longer? Yes it will, but it will be more of a niche mmo whose population will decline from what it was 6 months ago. Of course ZOS is working on a new game so they may be ok with this, as they will be handing TES universe back to Bethesda probably around late 2022 or early 2023 and by then I’m sure their new MMO will be close to ready to launch. Such is the way of life.

As much flack as zos takes, they deserve the chance to work on a new IP. All they have done is TES since 2007 burnout is real that gets old after awhile I don’t care who ya are. So something positive will grow out of all of this at the 😀

I’m looking forward to their new game to be honest. I think they will have learned a lot from eso and will be better for it.

Most WoW-related threads I've read aren't actually about WoW itself, but about comparing ESO to WoW.
So in fact people are just reflecting about ESO and other similar games (the most popular of which is WoW let's be honest).

Some guy shared his thoughts about WoW and what he thinks ESO does better and people discussed their own experiences in the comments. Some other guys asked a genuine question asking what ESO and WoW do well in people's opinion and how the two games could learn from one another, and people shared their thoughts. Even the most provocative WoW-related thread recently was related to ESO (whether people play ESO while they wait in the Classic queue) Tons of other threads are also just about ESO - like the thread that states that WoW 8.2 can't come fast enough because the chat in ESO is very bad due to WoW refugees (apparently).

None of this is against the Forum Rules so I fail to see why you're so upset. ;)

The crux of the argument, is.

I don't want this game compared to anything because i find it uncomfortable.

And then you ask for them to remove them.

By the way, your argument is a misrepresentation, because most threads are not about wow iteself, like talking about a problem of for example, retribution paladin on the eso forum, rather they are comparing the 2 games.

Done since ever, people on these forums have always compared eso to other games, only that when it's unfavorable to eso, people like you crawl out and question the validity of the criticism as in your opinion it shouldn't be on the forums, and want it banned.

Just gonna leave it at that, because i could say a few more things that would probably be not tos, because people like you really *** me off to be honest, people that desire to censor discussion when it suits them.

It is annoying but I understand the whole "I liked this concept in this game so many I should suggest it here". Like I really enjoyed the character screen and being able to switch or improve gear while in a loading screen on Destiny 2. Being able to manage inventory or switch gear while in an ESO loading screen would be nice but the game engines are different and thus can not work. Capes are amazing in Destiny 2 as well but ESOs game engine can not render them apparently.

So while I do see some as being annoying, I understand why people make posts that compare the games and make references to them.

Eso is a better game then WoW itself.
But eso have lack of updates for pvp content
Eso have very bad perfomance in pvp
In eso pvp is just fully nonsence. You cant earn something good from it (why i can get top tier pve sets farming pve, but cant get best pvp gear... pvping? easy acceseable sets as fury etc doesn't count)
And eso devs like to make big mistakes ( as this dot meta for sure. big mistake for 3+ month)
Thats why i play WoW right now. Unsubbed eso+ 1.5 year ago.
