How hard will they nerf the Templar?

So now, that we have dozens of #nerfPlar threads, enormous salt mines and oceans of tears about how fun... I mean OP MagPlar is I think it's time to start predicting how hard will Zeni destroy the entire class.

Will it be just a slight adjustment to a couple of OP skills? Or will it be nerfing entire skill lines, passives and adding 2500 mag / 1800 stam cost to all the skills?

Also, how soon before Soul Trap and Entropy become worse than pre-Scalebreaker?

Funny thing, it's not Templar per se, but the fact that single target Dot's were buffed and Templar happens to have access to purge. The only skill I could see being adjusted is living dark, and plenty of the best gamers on the pts pointed out that it would be a problem and it still went live. At any rate, it won't be until the next major patch.

Templar hasn't had the limelight for a while as dd's, they're due😉

The only nerf needed is one to Living Dark. How that skill made it out of the PTS is beyond me... BGs haven’t been this bad for constant CCs since the frost blockade meta.

For Christ sake i just made a Templar because of the nerf to NBs a while back.. I started playing again last week. Haven’t really played actively since Morrowind release. If they nerf this class’s already average damage while i’m in the middle of leveling, i’m gonna put this game right back on the shelf like i did before

The correct thing to do is tone down dots and add more access to purge, especially for stamina classes.

For some reason I feel like I saw somewhere where they said Templar was going to be first in their class rework list once skills are budgeted. They want them all to be like Warden and necro where each line has a clear role for damage, heals, and tank, with stam options.

So I expect total upheaval

Hard to say, but honestly the only thing OP about magplar is Living Dark perma-root and Mist Form crutching.

I actually just wanted to see what people think. I don't really have an opinion either way as I both die as a MagPlar and kill them too on many classes. ZOS will do whatever they want, regardless of player feedback (except when looking at how gutted, stomped on then set on fire NBs got over the past year, thanks to all the salty tears).

I find it a bit hilarious at this point that the usual route for player feedback is:

Players: "Necromancer Bash ultimate is too strong. Reduce the damage a bit and it'll be just fine. Thank you!"




ZOS: "Did someone say bash? *Proceeds to nuke the SnB skill line from orbit*

I can see them trying to give Templar’s purge capability to Necro’s to sell more Elsweyr chapters. The obvious cash grabs are getting more and more brazen with each big patch.

I have been playing MagPlar main/healer for many years now. There is a definite Nerf buff cycle to playing Templar.Nothing will change in that cycle. It is the zenimax way. Is it the purge that is the problem from ER and RoR that is the issue? PvP has a purge skill as well should that get adjusted as well Do we need a SWTOR/GW skill cool down system?

Is it burning light? Or is it people who create false narrative videos to bait others into calling for nerfs? Similar to the individuals who created a false narrative for how powerful Vigor was which in the end got it adjusted even further. And why is an exploiter and a slanderer even a class Representative? Camoflage hunter exploit? Same with the stream team (the ones who did that 1 point only into specific passive bug they found on pts and used it in pvp to pwn others) theyknow what is being talked about as it was mentioned on the forums. Zenimax knows it as well. But hey they sell copies so its all good.

Communities who have a short memory often fail to remember the history of those who they follow.

Raise the bar if other character classes are lacking fix them. How many dungeon guides that called for rapids to exploit mechanics were published?

Caltrops in it newest form is the distillation of the abuses of that skill. 30/34 seconds to 10 then from 10 to lose crit and inital hit.

Plague doctor 6000 to 5000 to 3000 set was abused, set was also in many guides same with ebon it was not the buff with ebon so much as it was the bar swap exploit to proc other sets.(SPC) <-for example.

Cast time on ultimate's where did that come from(PVP) unless the Assembly General got on the hotline and screamed at Rich!

In fact every skill should be 100 percent equal to every other skill total 100 percent homogenization. All gear should be equal upon entering pvp or delves. Heavy attack should be 1 per second and Light attack 1 per 2 seconds. Put a cast time of one second with a one second delay between all skills. Remove all pets from town. Dueling can only take place in remote areas. No more than 1 apex mount per account.

Make all dungeon NPCs the equivalent to Early access doshia and all mini bosses the equivalent of the Beta Mannimarco.

In addition all world bosses should be insta deth on standing in stupid. Add a 10 second cool down on a rez. And charge Khajiits 9 soul gems on a rez.

It matters not to me what happens as I have been there before so has every other long time Templar player.Maybe zenimax will look at fortified brass and rework it along with potentates and the dragon armor? Seems Warrior poet is over performing as well 10 percent what requirement for that set acquisition? ooh wait yes you must be able to find a treasure chest and use a lockpick. Nerf it the same as plague. Oh and alkosh seems to be overperforming as well. And seducer better dial that back to 7 percent .

And why is it that the ultimate's that were the most used in pvp the ones which got the cast times? Kragh the druegh king would like a word with you!

6 seconds on most used shields in PVP but pve shields some are at 8 seconds how about 7 for both or 8 for both or 9 for both. Not very standard if you have shield with varied times when at their most rudimentary form they are a shield.

Remove the kiss-curse from any ability the whole point in using such skills is for support. Why are you punishing players for helping their team?

Give bosmers back their sneaky sneaks and fix flare it wasn't used much and you made sure that it wont be used again that skill needed a buff anyway.

Purge in PVP tree fix the cost, the, cost is too damn high! Now that you have created Dot-Topia the least you could do for COUNTERPLAY purposes would be to give purge a reasonable cost. Like seriously WTF 6600 cost? for base form!?!?!?! What the Holy Frackles dackles!!!!! if not then raise the cost of dots to match purge cost? You Cite COUNTERPLAY issues with ulitmates but you negelect COUNTERPLAY issues with dots!!!!!

FotM is max plar groups.

It’s really not a “needs heavy nerfed!” As much as it needs balanced- or other classes brought to the same level of defense against a non existent dot meta due to 8/10 players playing Templar rn.

Everyone so scared of the dots that their option is run Plar or Necro or some mutt build running cleanse... and Plar is clear cut in a better place than necro so Plar it is.

This is not “let them shiiiine a little” - “they deserve it!!!” - it’s game changing for pvp. Annoying. No mixture of classes... Plar or cry. Zos is blind or brain dead because this was a very easy thing to see coming.

ummm, necro already has a great purge.

anyone who has played in the dot meta (or abused it) should know who can cleanse and who cannot

templar - cleanse
necro - cleanse
NB - suppresses dots
warden - cannot actually cleanse in practice - rekt
DK - rekt
sorc - rekt

though there is an expensive magicka purge, Wyrd Tree, and Curse Eater.

I hope they don’t nerf Templars too much. They were one of the agreed upon weakest pvp classes and deserved a buff.

Only thing imo that needs changing is the free snare from ritual, and maybe tone down living dark /b Slightly /b and they’ll be fine. A lot of the crying is from people who rolled other classes expecting to be OP and not liking a meta change.

PVP purge skill need to be affordable on cast that is a no brainer. Zenimacks should make the Purge affordable skill and cast cost wise. It is available to all classes just like entropy/deflowerization and soul sucker skill line stuff

they went to world skills and weapon skills and buffed them to bejesus levels DOTS .,,.,..,.,.,.,.,..,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,<Example but they did not look to adjust the available to all classes purges <-Examples

when templar first got Jesus beam after they robbed us of blinding flashes it was OP AF like melt down yo momma op they fixed that after awhile. So if not for generating sales why did the buff the current Dotty Dots of Dot/blockcast Dots?

BOL used to be stupendous and that got adjusted. Either fix the dots or make PVP purge viable and cost affordable after all that is fair counterplay and that purge is available to all.

also, Templar is not strong or favored right now because of some buff to templar (other then unstable core, that needs fixing) but rather because of a current meta that ZOS has created.

if that meta goes away or gets toned down, the amount of templars goes with it.

especially considering the amount of debuffs and defile in pvp actually went down, if it was not for dots being so insane I think cleanse would have been even less required then it was, sadly its need increased, and thus so did classes that have easy access to it.
