Please explain how PvE is fun?

Pve never changes.
I just wonder how can you guys enjoy repeat same fight over and over and over...
All mechanics almost easy, no new mechanics bringing to game.
I bored after doing same dungeon 5 times.
I am collectioneer myself, so I have each set in game ofc, so I did pve alot.
But day after day, same dungeons, same trials, same mechanics... In pvp at least people may have different behavior.
I was enjoying dungeons in wow recently, but only because of affections like this week trash pacs did 300% damage, next week each MO after death drop aoe that damage you for 10% health sec and heal mobs 30% health sec. Etc
I don't like pve because it's not make me feel any emotes if I did it more then 5 times. And I don't count story and questing as pve. And yes, this is troll thread

Anything that you repeat gets boring. Just take a break until new content comes out.

You can't use M+ as an example.... Also WoW got repetitive and boring just as much.

Sure, but in eso even less... It's not I kinda love wow, but eso miss something in case of pve

    You're talking about grinding.
PvE includes STORY. There's always something new as long as ZOS keeps updating. People starting the game have a lot of story to catch up so it's months of "new" stuff for them to see.

@Casterial Why isn't M+ a valid example? Is PvE endgame for people that don't want to raid.

I say anithing about story bud. Story is story, I don't count its as pve, cuz story can does everyone, it's not kinda "competetive" (if you even can say competetive about eso pve mechanics, nuff said about tick tock trials that can make only few constant raid, but you get my point)
Story is story and its beautiful. But it's not count as pve.

You're not going to tell me that the horse simulator is fun, are you?

To 'git gud' at PVE or PVP requires repetition, which is about as boring as boring can be. I play both regularly, variety is the key.

    This.

I'm here for the story and the exploration. Of course I'm going to run out of new places to go and new stories to explore at some point, though for me at least some of these stories are good enough that after a while they'd want repeating.
Apart from group dailies in Elsweyr I only really do group content with the gild and then I do it for social rather than reward purposes.
So what keeps pve fun for me? Great stories and good guilds.

There's more to PvE than dungeons and raiding. There are short overland bouts of combat against different kinds and groups of mobs supplemented by lots of interesting stories and beautiful vistas. There's seeing what's around the corner, or what's on top of the mountain, under the waterfall or in the cave. There's the fun of finding out what's in the barrel or chest. MMO combat's the most tedious part :D

Grinding dungeons and raiding is the epitome of boring frustration, IMHO :p

playing with PUG randoms is always fun. Everytime you get random players, classes, skills. It's like PvP - unpredictable gameplay. Doesn't matter you get good or bad group, especially when you don't need reward anymore, cuz you play mostly for fun.

He was comparing M+ to ESO Vet dungeons probably
Vet HM is hard, its the same stuff though.

After doing M+10s-20s every week and heroic/mythic raid weekly it all became the same crap.

WoW PVE imo is more fun, more thought out. ESO is slowly getting there.. You can't compare vanilla ESO to WoW now though.
Honestly compare ESO now to LK/Cata. That'd be about the same age.

In my social guild we sometimes also have fun events: like naked runs, or runs where you start naked and can only use what you loot, or thematic raids: all wardens with bears and selene, all petsorcs with 2 pets + maw monsterset + morkuldin, all templar runs, all stamina melee vAS runs, etc....

    PVE, yes, that's boring.
No need to whine about nerfs on the forum, blaming everyone who disagrees, no need to kill the fishermen
in chikendiil, you don’t need to fill in zone chats with insults, you don’t need to jump like a louse in cities, you don’t need to spam skills and throw duels to everyone.
    Boring ... :(

i will say that compared to pvp, eso's pve has far more structure and "goals"

eso's pvp (in cyrodiil and IC)reminds me quite a lot of free roam pvp in GTAV, which is just an exercise in griefing until one or all involved parties get bored/ragequit

eso isn't quite on the same level as GTAV in that regard, and GTAV is in a much worse state in terms of balance compared to eso, but the gameplay loop of deathmatching eachother with unbalanced and broken mechanics over and over with no real end goal in sight until boredom/frustration sets in is there

As somebody, who plays PvE and PvP in equal amounts, I really enjoy both.

Overland PvE is bleh. It's so braindead easy, entirely devoid of challenge, drains the life out of you with boredom and repetition, sure. But I like it when my worthless guild mates die in a vet dungeon and I'm the last one standing and they get to watch me solo the boss. I actually quite enjoy the occasional round of vMA. I like competing with friends over who can solo certain group content faster. I like dragging noob friends through dungeons they've never seen before, because they're afraid of being called out by more experienced players in group finder. That sort of thing. I make my own fun. ♥
Nobody cares about your endless list of terribly-named characters.

I love to do random veteran dungeons. You never know what you get in your team, sometimes bad dps, sometimes strong, sometimes you get a squishy tank, sometimes a healer that does like no healing.
Now I know that sounds awful at first, but being able to adapt and compensate for the groups issues and carry it all the way through is very satisfying for me.

if you have bad dps in base game dungeons, you get to see mechanics again, that you haven't seen in years cuz everything dies too quick usually.
if you got a tank who dies every minute and your group almost wipes, getting it up and running again, it feels great.

And if you get an optimized group it's great too. Having a smooth clean run, everyone likes that.

I never kick low cp players because sometimes you get surprised. I remember farming vMoS with randoms and all cp810 did less than average dps, then we got this guy who just got cp300 and he was doing better than all the max cp DDs.

On top of all that it makes you better at the game. learning to handle difficult situations and overcome them, even if the odds are against you. That matters much more than pulling max dps, cuz it won't help you if you can't survive in a difficult setup, can't execute mechanics properly etc.
