If the frame rate drop and lag can never be fixed unless they rebuild the game, will you continue paying for expensions, ESO+ or DLC ?

I don't believe client-performance (FPS-wise) is ever gonna be improved, because the engine is just a bit ... meh. I'd love for servers to stop sucking so hard, especially in Cyrodiil. But they've sucked for so long now, I don't honestly believe it's ever gonna change. Yeah, sure, they said they'll fix it in 2020. I'll believe it when I see it.

That said, I'm still here, I'm still spending money on it despite the issues, so saying I'd stop if they don't fix things is just lying to myself.

Performance can be fixed. It is really just about how much ZOS is willing to invest in doing so. With last month's post regarding this and setting up a road map, things tentatively look a bit optimistic. Even if the changes will be slow and take us well into next year. Plus we have heard much of this before. The new outline and promise for monthly updates seems to be a more structured and serious approach than the previous, vague we are looking into it lip service.

If this game just keeps getting worse I'll not only stop paying but move on to greener pastures i been here since day one and every dlc im getting pushed closer to the exit. Lag was on thing but lagging so hard weps can't swap bodies can't be looted, attacks having 5 sec delays from key press something gotta give and it obviously isn't the multi million dollar company that was evident for years now..

I don't purchase eso+, crown poop nor any sort of content because performance is beyond ***. If they would would fix it, I'd be a big ass financial supporter.
I cba to give my money to someone who doesn't give half a damn about my (and pvpers in general) needs.

Oh it can be fixed. All they have to do is switch back to the pre antibot netcode. They wont do that though

It's amazing how some people even today believe the lag can be fixed, they might be able to lower the level of lag some, but as past few years have clearly shown, the more likely option is that the performance goes even worse slowly but surely while Zenimax is telling they are looking into and working on the performance. I understand that players, who have played for about year or less, might still have some positive hopes.

Yes well, when I started playing latency average was 160 two years ago and now it's 250. It does suck a bit but it's really only bad in trials or large keep seiges. I don't have a very active guild for trials so they are few and far between. I'd love better performance, then I could work on being more competitive. Until that happens though, questing, dungeons, crafting, housing, experimenting with different roles/classes etc, is more than enough to keep me entertained. Lag with friends can even be a laugh. Thing about this game is the friends you make online will also keep you coming back.

I don't believe performance of this game will ever be up to buy2sub standards. Buy2play is possible, I have to confess to my shame I bought Elsweyr when it went on sale but things need to improve a bit before I open my wallet any more.

For casual mostly single player gameplay the performance is most times not too bad. It's the harder content and "massive multiplayer" where the real performance issues are. Bugs and glitches more or less affect everyone.

I've never been affected by performance issues. However, if I suffered half the problems some players claim to have then I'd move on, I wouldn't play the game but use its performance as self-justification for not paying.

Performance is generally fine for me on Xbox NA, but I have a pretty good setup. If I didn't and I suffered like some of the people I see on these threads, then I might consider not spending anymore money. Have good performance is critical, and if you don't have it then you definitely get frustrated very quickly.

Honestly I don't find it that bad. Whether it's because I have a better internet connection, because I don't notice, because of the content I do or whatever I rarely have problems which actually affect me playing the game.

Sure loading screens might take longer than my other MMO and sometimes I have to wait a minute or two after that for all the NPCs to appear and player models to fully load in if I'm in a very busy area, but that's not a big deal for me. I can't remember the last time the game crashed or froze.

if it was as bad for me as other people on this forum report it being I'd have stopped playing long ago. I don't consciously quit games, I don't subscribe and so don't put that much thought into it, but if I'm thinking about what to play and choosing between a game where trying to do anything is a huge hassle because it just doesn't work and...anything else, I'm probably going to keep choosing the ones where I can just get on and play.

But since it isn't that bad I do keep playing ESO and buy new content as and when I want it (and it becomes available - since they went down to 1 full DLC, 1 expansion and 2 dungeon DLCs a year I've been spending a lot less because I don't buy the dungeons).

Where is the other option? While I bought Elswyer for PC, I didn't for Xbox for the first time and I have stopped my ESO+ on both accounts. I don't get the dungeons since I only PvE.

Was thinking of coming back but had lag issues so, so far I haven't resubbed yet.

At times performance is so bad that going back to LOTRO (over a decade old) seems, at times, like a huge leap forward.

Funnily enough my experience is the opposite. I still play LoTRO and it's always stuttery in places whereas ESO is smooth for me on both PC EU and NA servers. Same playstyle on both games.

When it releases on xbox, if it is still as bad as it is now, I will at least cancel my alt eso+.

It is almost unbearable in Elswyr & in general the frame rate drops and invisible enemies are annoying me.

The majority of the problems that this game has is due to the code being a complete mess (they admitted that a while back), the improvement plan that they have shown us is them trying to fix the base code. That is why in update 25/26 (cannot remember which) we have to redownload the entire game, because they are basically rewriting the base code, integrating the all of the previous updates instead of just layering them on top.

Now whether they can actually fix the problems or if the player base will survive that long, who knows.

But then what do I know anyway.

Because we, as a community, have been burned by promises of improvement before. The game has come a long, long way since beta, don't get me wrong. There are however some very long standing issues, and more are added to the pile every patch. So at this point, many are waiting to see if it will finally happen, or if it is just more hot air.

Yes, only time I really noticed performance issues is in Open world PVP. And its been bad for so long i'v just learn to live with it at this point, its still enjoyable to me. If they can increase performance at this point its just a plus for me but still love this game and until that changes or something better comes out that grabs my attention i'll keep on chugging.

I did not answer the poll as it is an absurd question. We know performance can be fixed. It is a matter of will Zos do what is needed to fix it which is not the question OP has asked.
