I haven't looked at them yet. Please explain the pricing. Those shoulder pieces aren't selling for 51 gold are they; or is that a different symbol?

they're all from the 5 key chests- the ones that only drop one of two monster pieces. That's what I got when I spent 55 keys.

I assume you wanted Velidreth, and stopped when you got it. Otherwise, why spend all those keys on the same chest?

I got it towards the end... I was looking for medium shoulders... got stuck with heavy.
I think it has less to do with "the rng god" and more with ZOS trolling its player base.
They'll probably start selling keys for crowns in the next big patch.

tried to get Velidreth and of course got 2 times the same shoulders .... not velidreth.

I will just be very patient and wait those appears into cyrodill gold vendor.

Yeah my wife spent 50 keys and got Ilandris 10 times in a row. Odds of that happening 1/1024.

Ouch... I got my Symphony of Blades in the second one. But I threw many keys into old chests, I checked if I use the right chest so many times and I was starting to doubt that that arm exist

It's better than it used to be, but it doesn't exactly live up to how it was described. Would have been better to have each piece be it's own individual box, especially since you still need to fight RNG to get the right weight and trait on it.

Spent five keys and got exactly what I wanted. Have 203 keys left and for now nothing I want/need to spend them on. I am leveling a new character though so maybe soon.

Since this thread is about the undaunted chests, I would like to make some QOL suggestions for them:

-Also add the undaunted enclave to the starter cities in Auridon, glenumbra and stonefalls. (Edit: and Vvardenfell)
-Remove undaunted pledges from the quest tracker and give them their own category, which will show all three pledges above the currently active quest, without subparts so it is just one line each. Add (complete) behind it when it is done. Having to check the entire questlist every time you do a random if you might have done a pledge isn't fun.
-Allow these chests a small chance to give helmets from the dungeons as well.

I looked at this new format. I only had 52 keys, using single keys I used 12 to get the one I want. With low keys the rng on the 5 key chests is too high. I have plenty of helms so the other 11 keys gave me 3 other shoulders I could use.

You'd think they'd simply introduce some sort of token system, which allows players to save up and directly pick what they want, but I guess that'd be too convenient and user-friendly. Let's gamble instead.

I mean, why even have any RNG in there at all? To what end? So the player has to "earn it"? For pride and accomplishment? Farming these same dungeons over and over again isn't even challenging, it's just tedious. It's not like there was some sense of achievement attached to it, just let people get the stuff they want.

As for the pricing, 5 keys feels a little expensive. Though it does eliminate a lot of RNG..so maybe not.

These new coffers feel even worse than the old chests. I don't necessarily mean that the odds feel worse. Too small of a sample set right now. It probably is 50/50 after you open 10,000 of them. But repeatedly not getting the shoulder you want when it is an 8.33% chance does not feel as bad as repeatedly not getting the shoulder you want when it is a 50% chance.

Also, a 1 in 12 chance with a cost of 1 key means an average of 12 keys to get what you want. A 1 in 2 chance with a cost of 5 keys means an average of 10 keys to get what you want. The odds are not really improved all that much.

Congrats to ZOS for creating an "improvement" that only slightly improves odds while making RNG feel even more cruel and capricious.

No it eliminated the number of items you're going to get it didn't eliminate your RNG process. if you're getting 10 of the same thing in a roll i find it worse then old system where you got different items that maybe an different toon could use not any more heres 10 of the 1 you didn't want at all
