This patch is garbage.

These new rotations are brain dead and lack any real distinguishing characteristics from one another. The skill level for this patch is low. That might be a good thing for newer players or others that couldn't, up to this point involve themselves in end game content. But its horribly dull for me, see you all when ZOS is done with this "audit" that conspicuously couldnt be carried out on a private server with a focused dev team and top notch game testers. Im still confused how any of these changes help them do anything related to class balance, because you drastically change something and then do an audit. Thats not how audits work.

I know this will get deleted, but at least someone from the zos team will read it and get all huffy.

It was carried out a test server with a lot of top notch testers and players who have been playing from day 1.

Feedback was given to not proceed with many of the changes and the feedback was ignored.

LOL Zos and their creativity. I remember when they released crypt of hearts and the dev video was everyone using bows and staves with the tank in light and medium armor because heavy was so broken . the game was loving refered to as elder dresses on line for 18 months . They try to pass it off as this revolutionary design decisions when it's just really bad design and coding

Yup, banning players who have the temerity to suggest what ZOS are doing to the game is terrible is the way to make the game great again.

I am confused, how is 34251 any more or less skillful than 41523?

Changing skills on the buttons you push for a rotation is still just pushing a sequence of buttons repeatedly. Only skill there is would be picking which skills to put on the bar and then it becomes knowledge not a skill.

Seems what really happened is people do not like how the knowledge of what to put on your bar has changed. After all mashing 5 buttons in a sequence has not gotten any harder or easier.

They had feedback all that time it was in PTS and ignored feedback from players, class reps, forum watchers, etc lol. They'll just do what they want same way they went with racial changes (that didn't change anything other than shuffle meta races btw). They went nerfing sorcs, gear sets, class abilities, guild skill line abilities, healing, and introduced new things like new proc sets / gear at the same time. As long as PvE and PvP are not separately balanced like in GW2 / FFXIV, they will just keep doing nerf roulette and keep having pvers and PvPers arguing with each other. Overall this patch should be inconvenient but fine for majority of casual players who only do overland content. It affects people doing end game pve and PvP the most. But hey in a couple months they'll nerf roulette again and shuffle everything for no reason anyway. I'm more concerned over their constant lip service and promises of big fixes, game performance / server issue fixes and after years performance has just gotten worse not better. What's the point of all their nerf roulette if the game will kick you into an infinite loading screen or lag you out or give bugs where you can't even cast abilities lol

I have read the post 10 times and all I get from it is the writer thinks he is too good for the game.

Any rotation is - by definition - a ROTATION. You hit the same buttons in a specific order, over and over and over.

EVERY Rotation is going to be dull and boring. You are hitting the Same buttons in a specific order. Constantly. That's what a Rotation IS. And if you are smart, you are lining the skills up in order, from 1 through 5. If you bar swap, Those skills will also be set in their specific place. How hard is it to hit 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 etc. ? The skills of the Patch have nothing to do with the 'Boring' aspect. It doesn't matter which skills fill the slots.

To attribute the 'Boring' aspect of using a rotation to this particular patch is, IMHO, ridiculous.

    IMHO

How is it L2P when the OP is complaining that the rotations are too easy? (Which they are)

For me this patch is - . . . . . . or translated - dot dot dot dot and more dot.

DOTS are not fun. They are essentially little clocks taking away resources or HP. Some find it challenging with dot builds. I'm the opposite - I like action, burst stuff, dots should be 30% or less.

I tried to like what they did, but so far, I feel like I'm forcing myself to like it. Forcing yourself to love something means you natively, instinctively don't like it.

Again I ask how is hitting 5 buttons in a repeated sequence easier than hitting 5 buttons in a repeated sequence 🤔

I'm enjoying playing more myself so far as well. While I can't speak to CP PvP - none CP PvP is in the best state I've seen it in months (maybe years). I no longer die instantly every time a couple of players decide to gang up on me. The ridiculous swarm of ground dots obliterating everybody who gets near is no longer a thing. Defensive set ups actually seem to help keep you alive. It's certainly an improvement over what it was.

Healer is also a lot more enjoyable to play with due the buffs to Rapid Regen. I can actually heal people now without having to play a game of hide and seek. My tank is enjoying the changes to Inner Fire. The nerfs to invigorating drain was at first annoying me. But switching over to the new and improved accelerating drain largely made up for that. The new Entropy is nice. All in all, I have nothing but praise for this patch so far.

This new team seems to know what they are doing.

Funny my findings are exactly the opposite! Some guys in the zone chat (PC EU Non-CP) commented how everyone appears squishy. And I fully agree.

Being squishy is not fun, because there's very little time to act defensively and stay alive. I also seen this in BGs. Some players got super tanky (saw several almost unkillable necros that dealt a lot of damage), others are squishy. It's no balance IMO.

Do you play in CP or none CP PvP?

Because in none CP PvP I can tell you defensive options are a lot more effective now than they were. That's "balance". If you want to be hard to kill then you should have to sacrifice offense to build for defense. It was stupid before when glass cannons were just running around obliterating everyone with their burst rotations.

Let me ask you - how do you stay alive when several people apply same dots at the same time (e.g. degeneration) AND do burst damage? Shields have been nerfed, healing ward too. Please tell me, maybe I'm missing something.

    What's your resistances and health?

Because it should be easier for you to defend against gradual damage than massive spikes of damage.
