Best healer race

Breton stats are overtuned way too high. They are by far the best choice. However any race can heal. Personally I did all pve content on a nord healer including TTT with a pug group. As for ranks --> Breton, Argonian, Nord, Altmer. Then the rest.

I always found Argonian to be a good choice for heals.

Breton will still be the best, although people saying not anymore with scalebreaker due to single orb and spring at a time. But what i can see is that burst heals will be cast more often because of that. So yeah, go for Breton.

My two (2) dedicated healers won’t be changing race any time soon: Altmer & Argonian

I would say Breton is the top pick.
Argonian, despite having 6% healing done passive is probably the worst out of all magicka races.

Maybe in pve, in pvp they’re awesome.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

What exactly is changing with scalebreaker that makes breton worse than high elf? Cuz as far as I can tell Breton wins, by a mile...

My guess is that sustain will not be nearly as important for healers to stack, so they will lose out on a bit of their importance as well. They won't be bad, they'll just not be as .. better? Or maybe I'm missing something else worse. Hope not, I like my cheekbones.

Breton provides better DPS than High Elf too though due to having better sustain. Unless we go to pre-CP changes a few years ago when sustain was nerfed across the board, Breton are the best race for any magicka role right now. Sustain is by far the most important aspect of any magicka build. There is a reason why a mediocre stamina sustain set from the Craglorn trials that no one uses anymore is the BiS set right now for magicka characters (the magicka version was released with Elsweyr).

The potion passive is still stupid good. Granted, that's more beneficial to Tanks and PvP, than in PvE. Argonains are no longer broken good. But they are quite solid choices for tanking. For healing? Yeah, in PvP, where the tank/healer roles are a bit blended, they're very attractive. In PvE? They're not a bad choice, just not one I'd point to primarily.

Really any of the races geared towards magicka, including Khajiit and Dark Elves. I'd personally go Khajiit because of the extra sustain, resources, and increased crit heals.
Sorcerer's pretty much been the same for years. Nerf Rush of Agony and Saints&Seducer's

Oh, believe me, you'll still want your sustain after next update if they keep the Master Resto staff like it is on PTS, it gives back 740 stamina on first tick of Grand Healing, so spamming Illustrious Healing will assure your tank(s) and DDs inside a high amount of Stamina regen, even while blocking.

Im thinking of trying to play a healer but what is a great healer race?thank you

This would depend on the way you build and what class. Sadly its not black and white.

    But viable options would be:
Breton - great sustain for magica use.
Altmer - increased spell damage so increased heals.
Argonian, which personally I do not favour but can work well on some builds.

Class wise, the most efficient healers are still Templar and Warden. But you can make others work also, for instance I have a Nightblade healer/dps hybrid.

    Happy healing!

Btw I plan to change my Argo Warden to Nord tomorrow, what you gonna do ? :D

Meta? I'd probably say High Elf. Breton is a solid meta build for DC, Argonian for EP.

I run several healers - Khajiit, Imperial, Wood Elf, Argonian, Nord, and High Elf. They're all good in their own ways. Meta can suck it.

Also might be worth looking at stamina or hybrid healing if the next update goes through as is, which would drastically change what races are meta for healing.

    Ive been curious about this.

I run a Dunmer (not a vamp) support/dd Warden in pvp, has anyone tried a mag Nord pts pvp w/the new changes? Sets I run usually are necro, trans, bright, lich, & shackle at times. Depends when testing different setups.

I would lose a little heal/dmg & mag, but gain some good resistances, health, higher stam pool, & ult regen. Ult passive & warden class would seem to pair great together.

    Pvp, no pve.

    Anyone tested/thoughts on this?

Breton 100% if you want to do high end anything or try to PVP.
If you don't care about numbers or high-end PvE then High Elf would be a 2nd best.

If healers no longer are spamming springs and orbs, then sustain probably wont be an issue

Bretons, high elves, dark elves and argonians all work
