Official word on the absence of the Baandari Pets

Could we please get some official information as to why the Baandari pets that appeared in the "preview" crate weren't included in the actual crown store versions. Will we see these pets again available for sale in some other fashion?

It seems like the window of opportunity to get the peddlar pets was unnecessarily short.

@therift Our only chance was the unique crate box we got last month from daily rewards. The one that was a preview for the coming Bandaari crates and was set so we would get a nice item from it. That item was the Bandaari pets, which you only got 1 of and it was random. So if you didn't get the one you wanted it was tough luck, because they don't appear in the Bandaari crates.
I got the horse. The one I wanted the least.

Yeah the issue isn't that they didn't appear at all but that they only appeared in the preview crates, and each account was restricted to 1 preview crate (per server). So people who got a pet they didn't like or want 2 or more of them have no way of getting more.

It really didn't help that it was called a preview crate, making it sound as if the items inside it were a preview of the items in the real crates - so it was a nasty surprise for people who like the pets when the crates were released without them.

@ZOS_SarahHecker come on, could you kick your marketing team and get them in gear. Youre literally loosing out on free cash here. People want to buy the pets that go along with the crate mounts.

All my friends are mad at me because I got the pack pony from my preview crate and now it's apparently not available.. really confusing move on ZOS's part.

The marketing plan for Crown Store is baffling to me.

I would stuff the Store and Housing Purchase Tab with all of the digital products possible.

Previews that don't match the release and artificial scarcity annoy customers. This is a marketing 'no-no'.

* Everything in a preview would sure as hell be available to buy.
* Limited time items would be the actual 4 seasonal offerings: Jester, Mayhem, Witches, New Life
* All Furniture Packs all the time.
* The only costumes withdrawn are those with flatlined sales (which may be the present policy).
* Better organization. HPT on console is a headache... which hampers sales.
* Crown Crate Seasons should follow a published schedule
* Crown Crate reprisals should be concurrent with 'Seasons' schedule
* I'd have a 'backorder' tab to vote for withdrawn items to be offered again.

I've spent considerable time decorating houses lately. There are two Furnishing Packs, eight Music Boxes, and at least one house that I would have purchased if the damn things were offered for sale. And that's what I recall off the top of my head.

For a game whose revenue model shifted from subscription to micro-transactional, there are a helluva lot of lost micro-transactions.

Completely agreed. The limited time stuff is illogical (it isn't like they're charging MORE for it when people have waited and gotten desperate... it's the same price, just keep it listed and get more constant revenue stream; not sure how "bursts" of revenue versus consistent help?).

And the Bandaari pets are just an absolutely wasted bunch of potential. I got the spider in mine. Absolutely the last pet I'd ever want. I WOULD, however, purchase Crowns to throw at the gamble boxes for a chance at the wolf, senche, or pony.

I got the wolf cub from the preview crate, but I really wanted the dwarven spider. I hope they re-release it the pets.

Seems like somebody at the ZeniMax offices wants to see an active player metric. So they have been running daily log in rewards, as many games do, with special rewards exclusive to that month. Not entirely sure why this particular one vexes people into the frenzy of, "Why can't I throw money at you to give me the loot?!"

Update: The pets are part of August's showcase, which is great, but it doesn't explain the silence on the issue. I'm still salty.

Well our screaming at least made the pets appear in the store. The downside is it's for gems, not crowns. Price will determine if I'm gonna bother buying any of them, if they are going to be 400 gems like some of the other "gem exclusive" rubbish, it's a hard no from my side, definitely not worth that much money.

Considering they were initially released through preview crates and match the theme of the apex mounts it was always very unlikely they'd be sold directly for crowns. I think most people were expecting them to be in the Bandaari Pedlar Crates, so making them available for crown gems isn't a huge difference.

Well, I'm definitely not getting them, or rather I'm not getting the kitten I wanted. If they were sold for crowns I would have enough from my subscription, but I refuse to pay to play the crate roulette.

I guess I was extremely lucky to get a pet AND the very pet I wanted, senche cub, from the "preview" crate, very happy for that. But I really hope if these have to be gems only, at least make them about 16-30 gems, feels wrong that they were freebies to some of us and now gem exclusive, unless they are pretty cheap at least!

I have the sad feeling this was the plan all along, for only one week in crown store for like 400 gems :-/
