Volcanic Rune is now a better stun than Bone totem/Grave grasp.. I guess we now know what ZOS want magicka classes with poor stuns to use.
After testing I kinda like it it fits the Necro theme.

Remember totem gives minor protection. Necro is a very immobile class without a class shield. Needs all the tankiness it can get(not to mention it helps allies standing inside - good anti-bomber prevention).
Personally im going to use the DOT morph of the rune (together with soultrap,degeneration, and possibly baleful mist... options!)

Agreed but I'm using Necro/steadfast hero with healing ward and intensive mender. You should try itPretty decent in light armor but the blastbones is still unreliable as ever..
The thing is Bone totem is so expensive and any decent player will just avoid it and with Volcanic rune there isn't a big red circle telling you it's coming like they added to Bone totem.
At least Degeneration provides more pressure now with Ricochet Skull when Blastbones fails so that's a start.
Without an execute I feel Magnecro will always struggle 1v1 anyways...

Against a stam player spamming on you it’s pretty effective with the knockback plus it does damage too. Of course if you try to stun someone from range with it it won’t be as effective. But I2s arming time... not exactly viable as an offensive stun against people who know what walking is
