After the Season of the Dragon, what could the next expansion be?

With this years season of the dragon, we were and will be introduced to the regions of Elsweyr, but, as was when Summerset was released, I cant help but be excited for whats to come. So, this begs the question, whats IS coming in the future. The best we can hope for, of course, is that ZOS continues the schedule of releasing a major expansion every year, and with that I think that I have a solid theory as to what will be next. Based on where zone DLC have been released in the past year, and with the vast majority of the Aldmeri Dominion being filled in with the completion of the Season of the Dragon, I believe that the next large scale expansion will take place in either the Daggerfall Covenant or the Ebonheart Pact. Duh, I know, but bare with me. While I believe that the Covenant and the Pact will be the setting for the next expansion, I also have an idea as to where that will be in greater detail. Based on the level of completion of the Daggerfall Covenant, I believe that, if the next expansion is to be set there, it will expand on Hammerfell, possibly based on the story of the Redguard, and complete the map of the Covenant. But, the level of completion of the covenant map and the remaining bareness of the Pact map leads me to lean more heavily towards the thought that the next add on will take place in the pact. Furthermore, the first major expansion was, of course, Morrowind, so I tend to doubt that there will be another set there. And, while it is possible that the next completes the region of Black Marsh, I, again, think its unlikely due to the recent release of Murkmire. With this, it is my belief that, if the expansion is to be set within the pact, the story will be another set over a year-long release schedule and will complete the holds of Skyrim (due to their often being mentioned in the game, but them not being able to be explored). So, thoughts? Id love to hear any opinions on my speculation. Personally, I'd love to get to walk the streets of 2nd Era Whiterun and see Markarth before the settlement brought about with the Septim dynasty. But, I want to hear other speculation on the subject. So, any opinion is a welcome one.

I suspect that the Season of the Dragon might not end with Elsweyr (and, personally, it would be a bit of a let-down if it did); it would be fun if it also eventually led us into western Skyrim, since Skyrim has so much history with dragons. I'd really love to see more of the Reachmen, maybe a clan that's not generically evil for once. Most of all, I'd love to get some interactions with NPCs hinting at the current state of Orsinium.

I'm guessing a Cyrodiil expansion.

The only areas left are in:

Alik'r (but we already have 5 zones there, including 1 DLC and 1 expansion, and TES VI is taking place there)
Morrowind (already have 3 zones including 1 expansion)
Black Marsh (we got a DLC there last year)
Skyrim: They're waiting to drop this in 2021 for the Skyrim anniversary
Cyrodiil: Lots of space here as we only have 1 small DLC zone

High Rock, Summerset, Valenwood, and Elsweyr (after the Q4 DLC this year) have all been filled out completely.

Technically the major zone additions have been Craglorn, Wrothgar, Vvardenfell, Summerset, and then (Northern) Elsweyr. That's two in the DC and AD regions, and one in EP. So the next expansion could well be more of Skyrim or similar in the EP regions - or anything else, really, it's not like there has been a specific pattern. The next expansion zone will likely NOT overlap with whatever Bethesda is using for TES 6 though - so keep an eye out for news of that.
Personally, if Bethesda and ZoS think that this cash cow will keep producing, I'd hope for more of the Cyrodiil region, e.g. north/east of the Gold Coast, possibly with new partial PvP aspects, i.e. something new-ish.

i would assume its in a different region...so no aldmeri dominion since the last 2 where here...

we also had morrowind and wrothgar... and murkmire...

so my assumption would be nord, redguard or breton related - and i think they will wait with a redguard expansion before the next TES comes out...so my guess would be something nord related...

What better time to introduce the bard class than a nord expansion?

It's only a DLC in name. It was functionally released as an expansion (ZOS intended for DLCs to be synonymous with expansions back then).

I don't think we're getting Hammerfell soon, unless ZOS thinks it'll drive (and not compete with) TES VI sales the following year. However, if TES VI is still really far off, they might not care. But I think it's coming out 2020 or 2021.

They've already said starfield is coming first and it's not even been fully announced, just teased.

Hammerfell would be sensible, but I suspect a previous poster is correct. Cyrodiil is the largest unmapped area at the moment, and there's been a metric tonne of imperials floating around since summerset.
My guess is the region east of the gold coast zone will be the next chapter.

Nothing for Skyrim till 2021 tho, that's a certainty.

It didn't come with a new class, skill line, or crafting line. Was on par with North and South Craglorn in size, just something that they wanted to charge for after changing out the business model, removing the mandatory sub.

I'm thinking vampires in County Skingrad and the Colovian Highlands maybe more of Coldharbour and Malcolm McDowell back as Molag bal. I'd also like to see Laura Bailey back as Serana. She seemed surprised when mentioning Cyrodiil was the seat of an empire so she was seemingly around during the second era and maybe before.

You won't be seeing Hammerfell because that's TES VI.

Personally I’m hoping for a Cyrodiil Chapter. Skyrim Chapter next year when 2021 is the 10th anniversary makes not much sense imho.

They should do like they did with Summerset, where we got the island of Summerset and the Psijic Isle.

Give us Solstheim and a Deadric realm tied to a story-line. Or in place of the Deadric realm, maybe the remainder of the Morrowind peninsula east of the Rift (Blacklight/Ald' Silgrad?) considering it's too small for a stand-alone zone).

Should also introduce the Bard class and related skill-line.

This would balance the current "zone" releases at 2 each (AD, DC and EP) while leaving the greater Skyrim area available for release around the TES VI time frame (should they wish to do some sort of tie-in).

This would also "close out" the upper northeast of the current map with the exception of Telvannis/Telvanni Islands.

Although mostly, I would just like working with them for fun little quests. They could be the opposite of dark brotherhood by going out helping to cure people of stuff. Or helping save people from unnatural monsters that they would be better at finding.

If they want to avoid both hammerfell and skyrim, both who could probably hold 3 expansions all is left is the huge area east of Elsweyr.
One idea might be the area with Bravil and Leyawind who would be just east of Elsweyr, this was the southern part of TES Oblivion.
