PTS server question. Need help!

I’m thinking about buying old eso morrowind version on pc. I play console and only want access to PTS server. Would I still have access to all sets and updates on PTS that I would if I had the latest version?

Not sure how PTS server works, any help greatly appreciated!

Yes, you would have access to everything. You'll also receive a box containing a set of all(?) the sets and items if yoh create a new character with the PTS template.

Can I set it to be 810 from get go as well?

That isn't precisely true. While everyone has PTS access that includes the base game and everyone can try the base game changes that come with Updates, access to Chapter features is gated behind invites. So you will have PTS access to all the 'free for all' base game features (e.g. you could try the Guild Finder feature and could play around with Volendrung in Cyro, which were added in Elswey'r Update 22) but you won't have access to the expansion features themselves unless ZOS grants you PTS Chapter access (e.g. you wouldn't be able to try the new zone or the new class or the new trial in Elsweyr).

How exactly an account gets a PTS invite that unlocks Chapter access is a bit confusing, but here is what we know:

1. People who previously participated in PTS testing apparently get automatic access to new updates ('If you’ve tested the game previously, either for the Morrowind or Summerset Chapter, you can get into this new test from the ESO launcher with no invite required' - from ZOS's article about Elsweyr PTS access).
2. People who pre-ordered Summerset and Elsweyr also reported getting instant access, without having tested Morrowind previously. But this isn't actually a requirement, see point 3.
3. Even people who didn't preorder any of the Chapters can get PTS Chapter access, provided they are an active account. ZOS sends out invites according to these criteria: ' If you haven’t tested a Chapter for us before, but have played ESO this last year, you’ll receive (or have already received!) an email invite with the details.'
4. However, some people didn't get Elsweyr PTS access while others did, and there was some complaining on the forums why that happens randomly. This may be due to ZOS sending out invites in waves, so perhaps all accounts (assuming they fulfil the played-this-year requirement from point 3) will get one eventually. 'Because this is such a large test, invites will be sent out over the next few days, so don’t worry if you don’t immediately get yours.'

So it seems that an account's best chance at getting full PTS access to new Updates is either to preorder or to be an account that isn't over-a-year inactive (assuming that all acitve accounts get the invite as per point 3, and the missing invite issues that people reported regarding point 4 were just temporary).

Regarding your question of how the PTS actually works, yes you can set it to cp810 from the start since there are 3 PTS character options. You can create a fresh low-level character as usual (with no gear and no cp), but it also has max-level template option that creates a lvl 50 character (full cp, all unlocked skill lines, all skill points available, all sets of gear in your bag, most recipes, almost all collectibles, tons of currency like AP, gold, Tel Var, transmutation stones, etc) and if you have characters on the NA or the EU servers these will be copied over to the PTS during weekly cycles.
