Can we get a PTS server for Console already?

This would be costly. However, I’d pay extra just to have this capability. This would be beneficial on so many levels.

1. Console and PC do not play the same.
2. We have to pour way more resources into trying out different builds, such as Mats, gold, and time farming.
3. My favorite part of the game is theory crafting and I know a bunch of people on console feel the same
4. Doesn’t it make sense to test on console for any defects as well?
5. Give me a PTS server!!!!! Lol please🥰

Would be great.. Never going to happen. It costs money and offers zero profit in the quarter to quarter profit planning.

I don't even think it is that. It has more to do with jumping through hoops to get builds approved by Sony and Microsoft. The PTS cycle moves to fast with adjustments for that to be effective with such third part restrictions.

To my knowledge they do play the same. I use my Xbox One controller and I don't see any difference when I do.

They mean by having to theorycraft on live servers. Theorycrafting on PTS servers costs you nothing.

Soooo let me get this straight:
PC has addons, PTS and twitch drops
    Console has none of that

How do they play the same again?

Common misconception, Sony will push through updates/patches at the same time as PC if the company in questions pays, if not then they wait till the next cycle.

How do you just assume it would offer zero profit?

Imagine the new players who get the chance to try out different characters to see how they could be before investing a week getting burned out on a character they didn’t truly want. New players would be able to learn more about the game using the PTS to discover different sets, items, and everything else.

    I could easily keep going.

You can’t just say that it wouldn’t be profitable just like I can’t say it would unless you yourself are being given the reports that show the direct correlation of PTS to profit.

Well I heard a number of streamers commenting that the PTS on PC is all but deserted, so they may need to introduce a console one just to get the feedback they need.

I do agree, constant pushes and updates would be a problem. However, it doesn’t have to function like PC PTS. It doesn’t have to be able to keep up, and it could even exist on same schedule as regular servers. However, it would greatly help quality of life in game. Testing builds and working on things in a “consequence free” environment does help.

Compared to the Live server, the PTS is always deserted.

For one, if you aren't there to theorycraft or test new content, there's no real reason to download what's effectively a second copy of the game, with all the hard drive space that implies. So there's relatively few people on the PTS at any given time.

Also, this is a regular Dungeon DLC update, not a chapter with new story, nor does it have a new trial or leaderboard content.

There's a reason ZOS had specific stress testing events for dragon hunting with Elsweyr or Activity Finder for Scalebreaker. That's the best way to get more people on the PTS doing a specific activity that needs testing.

Is that going to lead to a Console PTS?

Probably not. Console players are going to have the same storage/low pop issues as PC so ZOS would still have to organize specific stress-testing events if they want yet more feedback - and at that point its much easier to just run another event on PC.

This, you can try out different gear, found this pretty useful as in should I try to farm this gear for a build or not.
Alcast play on Xbox but has shifted to pts for many build videos as he don't have to farm gear to show off an build.

However for the PTS itself, because changes has to be verified console will lag behind pc in the update cycle making it a bit pointless for ZOS even if nice for players.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The only valid points were that in favor of saving ZoS money!

I do think it would be beneficial for the console player-base if there was an available PTS (like someone else mentioned, it doesn't necessarily have to follow the PC process), regardless of the technical battles it might face.

One thing you may not be aware of is if they did that you would need to download an entire 2nd copy of the game. That's likeley a deal breaker for a lot of console players unless they have a dedicated external drive.

Twitch drops have no affect on the game whatsoever. Zos is not responsible for player created add-ons. PC and Xbox play the same. PC simply gives players the ability to improve their performance using better hardware. Again, not Zos' problem.

I don't think this is true. Basically everyone I play with uses an external SSD drive that can hold 2+ TBs. Storage is usually not an issue, unless you're running one of the first gen consoles with no external storage.

Regardless that decision should be left up to the player using their time to PTS.

I've asked for this for years with every major release.

I don't care at all about the pc vs console warriors. I play on console because I prefer it, and that's where my friends play. but like many console players, I also have a PC capable of running the game.

I can't imagine that it would be hard for them to give use console players access to the pts client on pc so we can join in on giving feedback (for them to ignore) and test things out.
