Can anyone explain Defensive Posture rework?

specially the part where it says:

Defensive Posture
  • The Damage Shield scales off 30% of your Maximum Health, similarly to other damage shields like Bone Shield or Sun Shield.

Absorb Magic (morph):
  • Reduced the damage shield size to 30% from 50%.

Why suddenly reduces the damage shield to 30% while it always have been the 30% of your health?
Another thing is, is this skill not too much expensive?

    For PvP:

    It's not very expensive and I think it is affected by battle spirit too. Cut in half or less, but it's been a while since I used and I cannot remember. It's pretty easy to keep up and has a 30 second duration. The main perk of slotting this is for the 8% increased block mitigation in my opinion, although the extra healing is nice. I've been able to practically spam this in situations where there is a lot of projectiles and not drop in health.

    As for the decrease, if I remember right, when Murkmire was launched they changed ALL shields to be capped at 40% or 50% health. This one might've been one of those 50% shields.

    Defensive posture has never been a true shield. It showed a "shield" in your UI but it wasn't actually there in practice, only worked for projectiles and was fully consumed once projectile hit you.

    With new patch it was reworked into a proper health scaling shield which also reflects a projectile. With 6 second duration and regular shield rules applied to it.

    I understand that everything. But what I don't understand ist the part where it says reduced to 30% from 50%

    I've never bothered to take that deep of a look at the numbers but I assume it means that the "pseudo" shield you were getting form live defensive posture was at 50% of your health. And on PTS it was changed to a "real" shield which is 30% of your health.
