(I can only speak to my experience of being an endgame PvE Healer, mainly running Vet dungeons)
The looming PTS patch aside, healing most vDLC content is incredibly unrewarding.
The position gets reduced to:
1. Buff/debuff/orb machine
2. MASSIVE HEALS ASAP or group will get two-shot (oh and in the case of DoM, they all have a 99% healing reduction debuff. So have fun getting them back to full health before the next AoE.)
Don’t me wrong, I like a challenge of keeping everyone alive and think vDLC SHOULD be punishing. Also having to follow mechanics? Truly enjoy it! It’s one reason I keep coming back because it’s so much more interesting than just burning the boss every time.
But it gets really frustrating when all the hits are one shots or non cleans-able and I can’t do a thing to save people. And that they often would be better off with a 3rd dps to burn the boss quicker.
The new nerfs to healing will reinforce the 3 dps trend, with someone slotting Vigor. And while I totally can see how PvP healing can be OP and easily abused, PvE healers are becoming more obsolete.
*slams a gallon of Respecting Support Roles juice on the table* Take a sip, babes.
