Another update, another patch you can't hide vampire

The worst part about these patch notes is that we STILL can't hide vampire and are forced to wear an ugly skin or have the ugly vampire look. Something HAS to be done, this is unacceptable.

Check the Mage's Guild hall in Bangkorai, Reaper's March, or The Rift. There is a quest with in that can fix that for you.

Lol yes not being able to hide vampire is the most outrageous issue in this game. Put a skin on.

They will sell multiple skins that hide it, but never one that simply reverses the visual effects. The skins fit various character themes and so can be repackaged and resold to players with slight differences. They would eliminate this demand by selling a mortal skin that may negate a vampire players need for more/better skins.

Kind of sad how many edgy-on-purpose replies this is getting. I think it's perfectly fine to want to keep your character's original looks instead of the always-on vampire ugliness. Vampirism is the only build in the game which permanently changes how your character looks, and that's bad. Looks should be a choice that's completely separated from how you build your character for gameplay purposes. Almost nobody is out here being like "oh man I really want to RP a vampire and have conceptualized this character to be one since the very beginning", they're only doing vampirism because it's important for the build they've put together.

And to be clear, NONE of the skins available in game are a good replacement, which should be obvious to people and yet here we are. If one skin (vampirism) doesn't look the way someone wants because it changes their character's aesthetic, do you really think turning into a living shadow or molten golem is going to be the fix? Of course not! Use your heads, people! And stop harping on folks who want more aesthetic options!

Yeah? How about we cover all werewolves in thick black fur while we’re at it eh? Wonder what your hot blonde high elf looks with fur above her lips

Except we are in the elder scrolls universe, where it’s actually lore friendly to hide the fact that you’re a vampire. Try again buddy.

It is perfectly acceptable and has been a design element since day one of TESO.

You knew this to be so, if not you were lazy.

It is also a consequence many believe to be appropriate some even too mild given how strong Vamp passives are.

In short, as said above, deal with it. Vamp is already a meta and the only drawbacks are visual and fire, fire bring almost inconsequential.

Tbh. I hope they will never add a way to permanently hide Vamipre via a menu button (like hide helmet works). And here is why:

If you will be able to do that, without any drawback and still keep your vampire passives, then pretty much EVERY one will be a vampire.

The only way I can see this work is through a 5 PCS set bonus sacrifice, or through a food buff. So you will have to chose crappy gear or sacrifice an ENTIRE food buff to hide vampirism.
Other way is to have like a consumable item that makes you look normal but at the same times suppresses all your vampire passives & skills for X amount of time.

...and I think that is completely unfair!
Let the werewolves ALSO get some changes! I mean, there -are- some traditional myths about this, yes? Increased body hair. Unibrow. Yellow eyes. Hairy palms. All those have been a "sign for lycantropy" according to myth...
    Recremen wrote: »

    I don't.
Vampires are bloodsucking corpses walking around, and they deserve to look the part!
    ...
    How-ever...
    ...
In a world of magic, there bloody well ought to be a way for them to -hide- that! We know there is, Count Ravenwatch frigging -does- it during the first meeting!!!

So, I totally would be fine with a "Marquerade" skill that lowers the vampire appearence by one "stage", meaning at stage 1 you would look like your old mortal self - as the cost of one skill slot (which would explain why Verandis foregoes the charade once things start to get more serious and he might want all his combat skills in play)

And then... the guards should pay attention to monsters pretending to be human with a "vampire detection chance" dependent on vampirism stage... say, 25% at stage one, 50% at stage two, 75% at stage three and automatic at stage four! And detected vampires get killed on sight with stake and torch, cannot use vendors who would just screech and cower in fear at the bloodsucking fiend, etc. And of course no detection chance at (appearant) stage 0 (as lowered by the masquerade skill), to make people want to try and pass for mortal, -exactly- like count ravenwatch does when we first meet him...

Oh... and also to fulfill some other classic vampire clichés... I think vampires should also have a chance of auto-attacking innocnets when on stage four. Just a "overwhelming bloodthirst" thing if blood-starved... makes sense, yes?

And while we are talking cliché... let them swim at a vastly reduced rate, or suffer a constant severe drain to magica while swimming, as to give them good reasons to avoid "running water"... ;)

Of course, there should be balances for all that.

Like, for starters, I don't see why player vampires cannot use the same teleport attack bloodfiends have. Only fair for players to get it too, right?

Perhaps also make all bloodfiends know their place, and become non-hostile to player vampires...

And... they really could use a "charm" skill or passive, to allow them to nibble at civilians without it being all crime-ish (as long as noone else sees it, of course)

And there could be special alchemically treated "blood vials" to store a feeding worth if feeding at full, for later. The better to control their stage with!

And also there ought to be a whole vampire sanctuary, where they can let their beast hang out without fear, use vampy-specific crafting stations and buy vampy-specific gear, RP with other vampy players and snack from pomme-de-sang NPCs... no mortals allowed (they could for example resuse and expand the "initiation quest" map for this...)

    Oh, well. Maybe someday.

I run Vamp characters, deal with it. Or perhaps we should allow werewolves to look normal during their transform as well ;). Yes, vamp is on all the time but you can feed if it's too ugly. Need to go back to Vamp 4? Spam mist form and you'll be there in a couple of minutes. It's what I do. Fire in the Dungeon, feed.. Heists or Sacraments, spam and starve.

give us 10% regen then it won't be an issue. That's the only part o0f the otherwise crappy skill line most people even want.

All I'd like is full colour tattoos ;) I knew vamp would be ugly when I went looking for a nibble. So many usless crown crate drops, that aren't visible on a vampire. I mean really, they are on top of your skin, or at least in the top layer. Tattoos don't fade on a corpse (trust me I know)

I don't mind the way my vampires look but do I begrudge others who want the option to hide their vampirism? No! Why would I? It doesn't affect my game. I don't know why ZOS won't give people a human skin. If they sell it in the Crown Store, they would clean up!

Then we will see a lot less Vamps if you are right. However cyro is not the only part of this game, we have PVE also. Vamp is still so popular you can't shake a stick withour hitting one PVP or PVE.

Dawnbreakers is the counter to the still very OP Vamp line it would not be so effective against so many players if so many players were not Vamps... See how that works?
