Social banned

I Have been social banned on 3 different accounts for sending guilds mails. On each account i used a different mass mail addon and each account was only about 20-60 mails in before each was banned. This happened right after store and account maintenance and since all tickets have been ignored (not even a robot response) I am bringing this here. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_BillE any help pushing this along would be helpful. Ticket number 190626-003506 if that helps

Unfortunately a lot of mailing AddOns like to push the time limits on sending mail. Plus, i wouldn't put it past ZOS to change the limits without letting anyone know.

Any mass email AddOn should play it safe or let the user decided if they want a shorter delay and risk a ban ...

Ah ha, so that's it ! @lordhakai is slowing the server down. The hampsters must be fed before you tax the server.

But, using any email add-on is risky. It could make you appear to be a bot or gold seller in some games.

yeah but it is a needed risk since there is no guild mail feature implemented by zos

OP. Use a better addon. If your addon is doing it to fast then you will get social banned. Zos does not support issues concerning your addons.

I imagine some limits were changed with the recent api addon changes. People were focused on the impact to MM, but I imagine Shissu’s reading of guild history had a bigger performance impact. All guild history, not just sales, was throttled. Wouldn’t be surprised is mail throttling was tweaked too.

That said, oh how I hate all those mails. Why does being a member of several trade guilds mean getting bombarded with bulk mails? I instantly delete them all and wish those addons didn’t exist. Use the MOTD, and ideally put all the info about the events for the week in a single MOTD posted right after trader flip.

If Zos made changes that make the mailer addons impractical to use, good for them.

What is the purpose of a guild mass-mail? Isn't the MOTD supposed to address that? If GMs didn't keep triggering it every other minute with a punctuation correction or some other minor change, I'd actually not need an Addon to turn of MOTD notification.

The motd has a character limit so that is why mass mails exist. For all those that dont like guild mails no one is forcing you to be part of a guild but they are a necessary evil. This is a post about seeking assistance if your goal is not to that end take you salt to another topic.


Also, @idk I used shisshu, godsend. and mailr each one got me banned is there another good one that your aware of?

As someone said the limits probably changed. Zos is limiting the frequency addons can request information to reduce server load. I pasted the link where Rich says as much.

Being able to send guild mail to everyone and by rank is a good QoL request to make of Zos.

Can confirm Hakai is legit and shouldn't be social banned, they're just sending mail for the Akaviri Exchange guild.

I would settle at this point for the social ban being lifted. If i can send guild mails for the time being that is something I can work around. However, blocked access to guild bank and guild traders is not

What does it mean to be "social banned"? Actually never heard of this o.O

Cant whisper, access guild bank, aend mails, access guild trader bascually no social interactions. This includes zone chat

@lordhakai - I and others in my guild have used godsend this week without issue. That doesn't help you at all; just a bit of info.

Classic ZOS.

First they encourage players to create trade guilds because there is no AH. Then they don't provide any guild tools, forcing players to use add-ons. Then their system social bans players for using add-ons because they didn't anticipate people using add-ons.

Hopefully you get this resolved soon. And keep us posted.
