I don't think you understand how TTC works. it does NOT update in Real time. information has to get uploaded and then processed and posted and there is a gap of at least an hour or more between the item getting scanned in game and the item showing up on the website.
people who are buying up those inexpensive items? are buying them the old fashioned way, while hoofing it around on foot and chances are - that posting you see on TTC website? is from an uploaded info by the very person who bought the lower priced item in a first place. TTC is NOT a centralized trade house. its at best - a snapshot of listings on any given day. delayed snapshot.
its useful for finding obscure items at mid range prices. it is very useless for finding deals to resell. the more in demand the item in question is? the less useful TTC is for buying it on a cheap.

Considering primarily consumers use TTC, what are you trying to accomplish
Flippers will check on out of the way places no matter what. Regular buyers only pop in when they see something cheap.
Every time I try to give the small guilds some business, I’m the only one there, and everything is somehow horrendously overpriced, not even by a small amount. Motifs are like 5-10k over average

did you check of your listings actualy show up on the website? because mind don't. it uploads yes, but it doesn't update.

well im trying to ask, if it were more fair if it was local markets instead of global, like how it was intended in the first place. Being maybe more likely to find better deals in less populated traders. yet. TTC takes that away entirely

i didnt think 1 hour vs ten minutes was that big a difference to be honest, i think this is off topic

Definitely a case where my time is worth more than gold, which I have plenty of anyway.

It doesn't work like this at all. I have published items to sell in guild store and TTC website updates it 5 or 10 minutes later.
And there is this motif piece I'm looking for daily and as soon as TTC shows it (10 or 15' minutes), I have run to it dozens of times as soon as I early see it in TTC but someone was faster than me, always. And don't tell me someone is constantly running to EVERY SINGLE guild stand in whole Tamriel non-stop (without eating, sleeping, bio-break, nothing) looking for this specific item, as there are hundreds of stands in Tamriel and it's simply not possible. Unless this is the MOST LUCKY MAN IN THE WORLD that always find the exact stand where this item is posted without using TTC.
And this exact situation has happened to me several times with several specific expensive items as soon as they appear in TTC with a lower price than normal.
No one is visiting EVERY SINGLE stand in Tamriel as to get this item every single time it is posted with a low price.
I don't know if the addon creator, or friends, or don't know who nor how, someome is getting CLEAR advantage of TTC, unfairly.

by your own admission it doesn't update your listings immediately.
also... consider for a moment that there are multiple people doing the reselling thing independently from each other. and trust me, they are NOT using TTC to do it. they are in the right place at the right time. and part of the reason i know it is because i've gone searching for deals WITHOUT using TTC and i've found a few nice ones when going around the world and guess what? those deals weren't even listed on TTC at the time of my buying them.
consider... for a moment, since TTC doesn't update based on sales, but rather based on scanned listing - that the listing that shows up on a website? was uploaded by the very person who just bought it . becasue that happens quite often.
TTC adds a fair bit of convenience for the consumer actualy. as long as you are using it for general ballpark of where something not common may be - its pretty good. but it is NOT as useful for looking for deals. for those? you still have to look the old fashioned way - by going from trader to trader on foot and hoping you are in the right place at the right time. the way it works on consoles and the way it worked before TTC and still working WITH TTC.

Yeah. Spare me from the "old fashioned way". I'll just check the Vivec traders when I need something, and buy it from whichever one's cheapest.

item flippers though don't search for items to flip on TTC. they do the old fashioned "go from trader to trader, sort by most recently posted and buy if its enough bellow average market price to be worth flipping" and even for that - they tend to use Master merchant data, NOT TTC data.
