Where were you when you discovered Bal Foyen?

February 2014 I think during some beta testing. Nice place but still favour Bleakrock of the two EP starter zones.

On my main. I ended up in Bal Foyen when I left (finished the questline for) Bleakrock Isle; having landed on Bleakrock after the first quest in the base-game Main Questline.

Granted, it took me about two weeks of playing the game, overall, before I stumbled upon the Hooded Figure who triggers the Main Quest.

Once I finished the Bleakrock quests on my first character.

After having partially started the Summerset storyline, since the game didn't bother pointing me to the real story starting point.

I found it in Beta. Because it’s where the Ebonheart quests led me on the first day of playing am EP character. It’s also on the list of map locations when looking at a map or porting from a wayshrine. Anyone who didn’t know it existed doesn’t quest and doesn’t read.

When you go to any wayshrine, it's on the list. How do you NOT know it exists?

Now getting there may be a different matter, because the wayshrine there may not be a known one, and the sea routes are obscure. But that also applies to the Alik'r Desert, where you have to arrive by sea the first time.

Yeah. I didn't do the Caldwell's gold quest. I stopped after killing Molag. At the time I was just after the achievement statue. Also, on console I just see a map, not a list of places to go. Before visiting Bal Foyen for the first time there are no wayshrines so it blends in with the other empty space in the area. Obviously, I'm the only one. LOL.

It was beta. Back then if you chose Ebonheart Pact it was the second zone.

They really really really should guide new players to the story these days, not force them, but warn them at least.
