I've managed to gold several sets of jewelry for 'toons, and I have more mats to do the rest of my 'toons if I wanted to.
I've never bought jewelry mats to do it, either, though I did buy traits to finish jewelry research on all my 'toons.
You might want to reevaluate your procedures and goals.
And yes, jewelry mats are too expensive to waste on jewelry master writs.
They're like the lottery tickets people buy for years and never win.
Just say 'No', and get on with your life.
the question though, is how long did it take you to get enough platings to gold them out? Did you start at purple? or did you gold out from white. Also how many hours did it take you to collect all the dust necessary to make the platings?
It took me the same amount of time that you've had to collect the platings and dust.
Since Summerset was released.
We didn't have jewelry crafting before that, and we didn't have dust and platings before that.
No jewelry collected before Summerset could be crushed for mats, so a big pile of stuff collected beforehand has no bearing.
I assume you may want to go back and reevaluate what you think of as 'me' (or any other player not 'you') having an advantage that 'you' didn't have.

that's doesn't answer my question. how many hours? And while we're on the subject, how many hours do you play a day?

Why don't you ask me how much money I make, or how old my car is?
Do you want us all to chip in and buy you stuff because you can't get enough on your own to compete?
You have the same nodes to harvest as I do.
Maybe you should spend more time harvesting them.

On average you have 1 chromium grain from 200 ore, so it's 45-50 times you need to collect node and time depends on location and your path. But at least it should takes about 15-20 minutes or more, so it would be about 2,5-3 hours per plating if you'd collect only jewelry nodes.
sp_korshun wrote: »Zircon has pretty same drop chance from refining as chromium, maybe in pure numbers even for a couple of percents more. So it's also about 2-3 hours per plating while collecting only jewelry nodes. But more easy way is to sell 1 chromium plating from dailies and buy 3 zircon from store if you need them for upgrade. Ofc i want jewelry hireling, but we were talking about how it is on live server.
The problem with jewelry crafting is the 10 dusts system. In my opinion they should halve the dusts required to make a plating, this way it will still be rare to make platings but it won't be as ridiculous as it is right now.
Just get rid of the hireling entirely and add material crates to daily login rewards.
Why do I need to check so many mails everytime I login, why do you want even more .

Did you try reading text? It's funny sometimes, I like that feeling of an NPC chatting with me instead of yet another box to open, dozens of them.

Everytime you login you should get
Daily Reward + Daily material crate.
Daily Material crate is calculated on how many characters you have + each of their crafting levels.
No thanks, no more crate opening simulators plz.

@Alowishus what a petty reason to say no to streamlining the process of getting your daily crafting mats.

They could fix 90% of the grief associated with JC by putting purple mats in the JC writ drop table. Purple JC mats are the biggest mat bottleneck in the game.

They have.
Hmm might have botched the interpretation there. They now have Purple Writs, but not sure how that helps...

I see, you would just prefer a mail opening simulator.
10 characters. 5 mails per character (6 with JC)
50 mails per day just isn't enough, we need 60 mails to claim and delete daily or ... 1 crate that evaluates the entire account daily. I can see how that would be such a chore for you.
jewelry research is the shortest in the game anyway, shorter than even carpentry. so research is ok. gold is also kind of, gives moderate improvement so will be like a last brick in the build - for perfectionists. But purle is really ridiculous.
