Lost passion for ESO due to lag/bugs/techincal issues - A sad day :(

This game has been a huge part of my life for the last 3-4 years , i have around amazing 4300 hours invested in it. It took me 2 years to achieve flawless conqueror (greatest achievement in my gaming history, the process behind this was incredible!) on my stam DK and pass 40k dps (which became an obsession in itself! I have spent so much time reading through your posts and insight behind the game mechanics). Not to mention to max out my crafting (2,5 years off and on to get all traits)! I simple LOVE the interesting voiced over quests, the way the classes are designed(freedom to create all sorts of specs) and the BEAUTIFUL world. I came from wow and this game was an improvement in every single way imaginable (as far as PvE goes, which was all i ever did).

After being "forced" to PVP in ESO for transmute crystals and PvE skills (I promised myself never to step into BG/CYRO after i got my caltrops on my main lol ) something unpredictable happened.... I fell in love with concept of PVP. The last 6 months ive been trying out different classes and builds and doing Cyrodil and Battlegrounds.Ive been watching countless vids of specs and setups and having a blast! However - I can sadly not longer ignore the vast technical issues of this game. The lag in Cyrodil (combined with low dps due to having a good computer) and the broken Battlegrounds que system being my biggest issues. The sad part is, it doesn't look like ZOS is planning to do anything what so ever about this, they havent even acknowledged many of these issues! I was willing to look past the low FPS (even with a 3000$ dollar rig ) and the insanly long loading screens.. But the lag in Cyrodil, and the broken LFG/Que system is just not acceptable. Half my matches the group never gets enough players to even begin, and i get deserter after leaving.

Couple of days ago i decided to try out PVP in WOW, something i never really got into the 10 years i played it. The experience was by FAR superior to eso in every single way. The Arena and Battleground que system works smooth. There is no lag, what so ever - and it doesnt hurt that the game itself runs with high dps on max settings, and loadingscreens are 1/10 of the times of ESOs - without even exaggerating!

I wasnt planning of returning to WOW at ALL. I mean, i have 4300 hours ingame and untill recently i had a new 2 year plan in ESO on things i wanted to achieve. However, since i tend to do nothing but PVP anymore - Wow preformance simply shines compared to eso! I would NEVER in my life imagine that techincal issues would make me lose PASSION for ESO, im actually sad as hell while writing this right now. If all i did was PVE i would have stayed in eso no doubt, but with my newly discovered enthusiasm for PVP - the technical state of Elder Scrolls Online is just a horrible mess and ZOS should be ashamed of themselves!

I just wanted to thank all of you guys for being with me on this journey and helping me along the way. These forums were a blast to read over the few years, ive learned so much and you guys are simply my type of crowd! I wanted to write this down cause im a passionate guy and it felt right sharing my thoughts with you.

Edit: Come to think of it, players like myself are probably main reason why this isn't getting fixed and deemed as acceptable. Ive spent large amounts of money of the Crownstore. I couldn't help it, i got so cought up in all the cool and convenient stuff in there. This convenience came with a price it turns out.

Sad to see people going, hopefully they solve the issues and you can come back and find the game fresh and fun again.

Also if you've cancelled a ESO Plus sub there is an email address in the confirmation you get which lets you give feedback as to why you've left. This is a good way to leave a constructive reply for the teams at ZOS to see (as they may not see the forum threads made).

    Nicely put.

Sadly it’s somewhat obvious that ZOS could not give a toss about this..

They’re currently dropping or throttling functionality in the hope that enough people leave so that they don’t have to invest in any additional infrastructure.

You’ve got to wonder what those parties at E3 are like. The atmosphere must be so stenchy that not even Cheerleader Finn can manage any real enthusiasm,

I suspect many people do the same, it is only normal. Everyone's patience have a limit and ours have been put to the test for months.

I cancelled my sub a long time ago, nowadays log in to the game and see if I can do some BG without much fuss, if its working I play for a few hours if not just logout and do something else. Other days don't even bother to get in game because can't be bothered with all the lag and bugs. Each day the will to play is less... it is really sad for me. I spent a few years trying different mmos searching for one that would make me feel a little like my first mmo did, and ESO managed to do that for a time... then came the lag and bugs, the broken DF, the broken maintenacens, the lack of communication etc etc...

Can't belive no one done this to this moment. So I will be first. Can I have your stuff? :hushed:

Seriously, it's sad, that so experienced player as you are leaving, but it think it isn't your last word in world of ESO ;)
Had few breaks on last 5 years, but in the end of the day nostalgia from ES lore hits like a truck.

Sad to see people leaving. I hope you return one day, assuming ZoS can fix the current stability issues.
Cyrodiil has always been a mess, but the stability issues spreading like an epidemic and affecting the PvE now.

Agree that quit threads are against the ToS and this one will be locked. But as long as it's not, please enlighten me - what exactly is the point of your post? Are you more interested in being a troll than in the reasons why fellow players are leaving the game? Do you think those reasons are invalid? If so, why?

Who am I kidding, most people are perfectly happy dropping money into this game as long as they can do *their* thing, never mind if others are struggling.

They have a policy of closing quitting threads, period, as per the forum rules:
Goodbye/Quitting Threads: We understand that sometimes people will leave the ESO community, and want to post a “goodbye” or “quitting” thread. Generally, we have found that “goodbye” and “quitting” threads have a tendency to go downhill fast. It is our policy to read the feedback in “goodbye” and “quitting” threads and close them, regardless of whether they are constructive or not.

I don't think it's a good policy, but their house, their rules. Anyway, having recently cancelled my own sub (though I still have some ESO+ time to use up), I sympathise with you. Shame that this game is so sorely mismanaged IMO, it has such great points, ruined by far too many issues that go ignored...

    In b4 lock.

This is a huge problem on this forum, when loyal paying customer bothers to explain things after tolerating many things in the game gets rewarded by locking the thread, it's like sweeping the own problems under the carpet and pretending everything is totally fine. This kind of thread is the moment when Zenimax community people should try to join the conversation and keep the customer playing and paying instead of locking threads and removing comments. Of course if things can't be fixed, then ignoring players is probably the most efficient solution.

Such threads usually only get locked, not deleted, so both players and developers can see what is being said. Besides, there's not exactly a lack of threads covering the points usually made in quitting threads and it's only the quitting part that is against the forum rules provided the rest is put constructively and not by way of a mindless rant.

These issues are even affecting normal gameplay. Guild chat lag, desynched mobs and items. Bar swapping fritzing out, blocking being stuck, inability to mount or Sprint. Had none of these issues before Monday's patch. Not that was noticeable aside from loading screens.

PvE is affected to the same extent nowadays. Lag and queue problems are common.

I can only suggest you to try different games. I like pvp in dark souls 3, for example. It is still fairly active and pretty enjoyable. Just don't read any messages from people you may get.

Just found out in another post these are pretty serious necromancer bugs many are experiencing now. Makes game unplayable.

Yup I agree. Between the performance issues and the balance issues between Magicka and Stamina. I'm right behind you. Enough is enough. It's been a decent 5 years. But sadly ESO most go the route Eve Online went for me after 12 years of playing that MMO. Anyways laters peeps. And no you can't have my stuff I will burn it before allow anyone else have it. :naughty:

It’s night and day the performance of the WOW servers compared to the ESOrry servers.
Can you go from the southern most tip of the map to the northern most part without a load screen in eso? no

    In WOW you can.

My latency is eso is always 140ms +
Wow my latency is 30-50ms on a bad day

I just wish they dropped EVERYTHING they are doing right now, and spent a year adressing the technical issues. Everything from the ultra poor preformance, long loadscreens to game breaking bugs like the one with group finder and lag!

That gaming interest waxes and wanes is a normal process. Many people take both long and short breaks and later return rejuvenated. I started ESO in closed beta and recently renewed my 6 month sub but I have also enjoyed vacations from the game. Done the same with many other games, activities, and pursuits. Enjoy recharging your batteries. The game will be here when you are ready to jump back in.

I'd rather have the issues on ESO than the lack of content and attitude of the Blizzard people. Yes the servers are a lot more stable but their classes are horrible, they keep taking things away without replacing them or replacing them with something no one wants and there is absolutely NOTHING to do PVE wise unless you want to PVP or run mythic + in PVE.

Sorry to see you go, but coming FROM WOW because of how terrible it has become, I can tell you that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
