A Waking Nightmare - Kill Zalsheem is still bugged

Killed Zalsheem 4 times and still did not count. Unable to finish the quest.
2 weeks since Elsweyr launced + the PTS time. PC EU is already messy and now we are not able to proceed with our quests.
How many Mondays do you need ZoS?

Along with lots of other quests in Elsweyr.

I used to think that the whole ‘early access’ label was just a smokescreen to placate console players who have to wait until the game goes through the console approval process.

Now I realise that the game is, indeed, in a pre-release state at the moment.

You might have thought that these issues would have shown up during PTS, but apparently no one noticed or gave a monkey’s.

Log out and back in and kill him again....this solved it for me

For some reason it still counts for the Savior of Elsweyr achievement, at least. If you finish all the other world bosses and delves, and the Elsweyr story-line, and Mural Mender, and any other requirements for that achievement, it'll still give you the achievement even though that boss will still look like it wasn't counted, so it'll still give you that orange dye and the title.

I did it, and can confirm that it works.

Did not work on any of my 6 attempts, but this is ZOS and mileage does vary a lot ...

Yeah, I killed him several times with no finalization to the quest, until I got credit last night for killing him again.

Random quirk and it was a 1/100 occurance, or it's been fixed?
I don't know yet.

Kill credit has been working...

When he shows up


The other day I walked up to the area and he was active, one other person was /lute’ing it up, so I passed him to grab the other fetch quest objective while I waited on a few more people to speed up the kill.

While I gathered, I would spot him as I came by, then I got the last item, came back and suddenly he’s gone. He didn’t come back until quite a few more players arrived.

Can’t tell if it’s random or if it completing the other objective somehow makes him despawn

I just killed him twice and got no credit for the kill.

I tried to kill her four times so far on different days and it still doesn't work. Didn't work for others in the area either.

Strange that some efforts get credit and some don't, relogged as well, but no luck.
Or is it that you have to land the killing blow?

I have no clue. Some say being in a group helps but that also did not work for me and I did like 61% of the group’s dps.

Thanks, then maybe its the order in which to to do the two requirements.
I'll abandon the quest , accept it again and kill her first and do the seconds requirement after that.
Just odd that it appears to work for some and not for others.


EDIT: did't do anything either... killing Zalsheem first did not register, placing the burial urns registered.

Killed her four times in a row, nothing. Went to do the delve, ported back, got credit on the fifth. Can't think of anything different except obviously I left and came back. Maybe was in another instance or something idk.

Very frustrating.

Yeah, Im thinking this could be an 'instance' thing.

I tried a couple times again this morning, killed and looted but no credit.

Then I began porting to guildies to change instance. The third time I changed, I got credit.

It reminded me of the time when Summerset first launched, and the gryphon WBs would not appear in certain instances. So we would keep porting to guildies until we hit the right instance where they appeared.

This seems a bit similar to me..

It does NOT work.

It worked for me. I was able to get Savior of Elsweyr and the orange dye, even though my achievements log still says I haven't killed that boss (I've killed him several times). Sorry it didn't work for you, but it most definitely DID work for me.

Since Elsweyr is only on PC right now, I would assume everyone saying Zalsheem is bugged is on PC.

Hooray. Possibly a fix for the luxury furnisher too, seeing as his appearance and absence also seems to be instance based?

i dont think so. i read the last patch notes and they didnt mean anything about fixing this particular issue
