So ZOS makes us pay a minimum of 35$ for a Broken class and a very small zone?

So wait... this is the only zone we're getting? I assumed the rest of the province was unlocking after the official release date hit.

Why name the expansion Elsweyr if all we're getting is Rimmen/Anequina? It'd be like releasing a the United States of America expansion and only getting to explore Seattle and the rest of Washington State. There's a whole heck of a lot more to the country than just a tiny corner...

Zenimax is the parent company of Bethesda.

Seriously, what did you think was going to happen?

*cough, cough* Fallout 76 scandal and possible class action lawsuit *cough, cough*

I still play The Elder Scrolls Online but I no longer pay for subscription or buy new content anymore. Neither of these companies care about their customers. They used to in the beginning to increase their fan base. The major problem with these AAA game developers is that they are falling into the same trap as other corporations.

In the early 90's when McDonald's was making good money, food was not only affordable but made with decent products. Today, all they care about is their bottom line (how much money they can make for themselves and their investors and how to reduce costs). McDonald's hit a huge backlash for using below the average standard of ingredients and not repairing or replacing broken equipment. It's so bad that there's a meme about how McDonald's ice cream machine is always broken but customers can't see the big picture. They blame the employee, not the corporation.

The problem with Zenimax and Bethesda is not the actual game developers. It's the CEO, the board of directors, and the stakeholders. These are the people that make decisions that prevent developers from making a game that actually functions the way it's supposed to when being promoted. These AAA companies look to reduce their overhead at any cost... even if it costs them future customers.

Corporations only care about the profits in the short run and not at all about their reputation in the long run.

Video games are the only products in the world that a company can sell to a consumer broken and not get sued.

Think about that for a minute.

I just hope people will wake up one day and realize that we're being duped because of the gamer stereotype which is an early 20s unemployed uneducated individual. They think they can get away with it because they think we are stupid.

people whine about things they didn't have to pay for in games they don't have to play so they can go on forums and scream and rage about a video game. this isn't some giant conspiracy. ZOS is just a company that makes a game. They're not all evil and rubbing their hands together laughing maniacally about how they planned this all to go horribly just to specifically *** of a few people on the forums who were already going to make angry posts regardless of what came out. People like to forget that video games have ALWAYS been this way. the only reason people say things like "developers are pushing out buggy unfinished games" is because these games now get more attention, and with the fact that patching games is easy games seem relatively worse because other games that are patched or future version of a game that are patched make the old one obsolete and somehow worth screaming about.

Get ready for more posts about this. When console (the bigger population) gets the expansion there will be many more angry posts demanding refunds and immediate fixes - and I don't blame them. ZoS lied to the players and worse yet, wasted time on the PTS screwing around with the Nightblade instead of focusing their attention on a clearly incomplete class:

    - Bugged Blastbones pathing and delay
    - Sluggish casting animation and projectile speed for Flaming Skull and its morphs
    - No class Major Sorcery/Brutality buff (standard buff for classes - Templar needs it as well)
    - Tether and Siphon ground corpse targeting is REALLY BAD and they need to simply consume a nearby corpse as a cost
    - Tether and Siphon do not return a net gain of resources and are instead a WASTE of resources

All I can really say is that this is just a repeat of this game's development history. If you partook in the closed off forum for Morrowind, you'd know how little they cared about criticisms and feedback, despite asking for it. Also, the "will be fixed next update" seriously hurts their game, and yet they don't really seem to care, as long as people are buying their content and funding their uninformed decisions via the crown store.

I dont think you understand marketing at all. Necro was the main selling point. No one cares about another leveling zone with no levels and bad story.

I've honestly never understood the whole "OMG, give us Necros!" hype train that people have been running for so long. I have no clue what the attraction of the class is (I never bothered with necros in the Diablo games, either.)

I'm also pretty sure that Khajit fans have been screaming "OMG, give us Elsewhere!" at least as loud and long (if not much louder & much longer) than the corpse enthusiasts.

    Its called Dark fantasy.....
And the game lacked a playable Dark fantasy character... and no NBs are not dark fantasy just have a few darker stuff....

some people like me LOVE playing Edge Lords ( Class skills and theme wise ) i was waiting for a necro in this game since release... thats what ? 5 years ? and im not the Only one.....

some people in MMOs ONLY see numbers while others see class fantasies and if your the Later and you dont have a type of character/class in the game with the Fantasy you enjoy you will end up enjoying the game WAAAAAY less while hopping between alts because none of them gives you the fantasy you want and sooner or later you just quit for some time because you got bored and just wait for an update that has your fantasy to happen while playing other games...

Nope you aren't the only one. Been playing since console launch....and only started playing to experience necromancers....(favorite play style in Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind) but after playing found out you can't play them in ESO. Stuck around hoping one day I could.

The game maybe in *early release*, but it has been on the PTS for months. Class skills fail to work and NPC's for the main quest refuse to show up... I see complaints as being valid considering the PTS is there for a reason. I expect things to function properly. A few tiny issues would be ok, but if my class abilities grey out and I have to reslot them for them to work then we have an issue. Or I have to drop quests multiple times for the NPC's to load in. Not counting the DC issues people are having. People complain, because we care about the game and the product we purchased.

They really should wait until each and every concern is addressed before releasing it to the public. It might be 2059 before new items/expansions get released but that would be much better than playing something that is just totally unplayable. (Sarcasm here folks).

The people supporting it are mostly the whales that just pick flowers and buy homes from the Crown Store. The actual players ARE complaining about it. ZoS can either listen to the player base and fix their mistakes or they can allow their game to die a slow, painful death as players simply leave to other games. Borderlands III is not too far off and I'm sure E3 will show even more. ZoS' whaling strategy isn't going to sustain ESO - they have to deliver functioning, high-quality content.

Zos made me..... Me too, me too

This is what happened to me

There I was asleep in my room. I heard a faint noise outside and the slow deep growl from my dogs. "Scott, Stevie, what is it?" As I slowly rubbed my eyes to erase the fog from being woken from my slumber, a shocking blast ripped through my home as fragments from my door flew in every direction like angry hornets.

Immediatly after, I hear screaming, " get the f*** on the floor" as ZOS operators attached to bethesdas a co 1/75th dev regiment came breaching through the door with rifles at the ready.

My dogs barked in a defenisive posture, trying to keep me safe. "Shut that dog up" they commanded while simultanesously delivering rounds to my loyal companions.

In shock, in a moment that made time go still, I felt warm blood spray on my face and brain matter splatter on the wall like a water balloon.

I lunged forward, " you ***!!!" As a knee from the ZOS operative slammed into my stomach, dropping me to my knees. Just as swiftly, I felt the hammer like effect of their rifle butt to the back of my head, followed by blood flowing down my face.

The commander approached me with a look of superiority and power. Taking knee a next to me they gripped my hair and placed a 9mm to my forehead. I can still recall the feeling of the cold barrel against my foreward making me think of the cold fate ahead of me.

"Sign this or die". In desperate fear and terror, I signed without reading a thing. And just like that, I was made to buy the newest dlc.

How where you made to buy it? I hope your story isnt as tragic as mine.

If they didnt fix that before is because probably they were focussing their efforts in other tasks with more priority. It will eventually get fixed, just relax.

This is a problem with the gaming industry in general, and you're part of it IF you accept and defend this kind of behavior from the game publishers. It's not just a problem with ZOS, it's a problem with most game publishers nowadays. Games that obviously aren't fully completed yet, get sold at premium price. Instead of giving the game (developers) another couple of months to fix most of the issues, they get released in a broken state. Another prime example of this is Fallout 76.

We should not accept nor defend this practice.

Once again...someone I don't know telling me how to spend my money...never will understand this...

I have no clue why you think "We should not..." is a command in general, much less a personal dictate to you specifically.

This may be the most arrogant, elitist statement I've ever read. Who are you to degrade other people for how they play or what they enjoy? Crafting and decorating are both extremely popular with a lot of people and they pay their money just like everyone else which makes them ACTUAL PLAYERS.

Some players enjoy the journey, the totality of the game and ESO does a great job of keeping all zones and content viable before, during and after expansions. Perhaps the ACTUAL PLAYERS are the ones who see the game as a whole and not just individual slices of the whole pie.

Well, no one makes you pay or do anything regarding ESO, its optional.

I have always found ESO to be rather good in relation to its DLC and paid content. I mean compare it to something like Destiny franchise and others like that, ESO is so much better and greater value for money. ESO is a business, part of its model is to make money, but I feel it does this in a significantly less exploitative way than other franchise does.

We must remain vigilant and call out unacceptable practice where we see it. I think paying for a DLC occasionally is acceptable.

IDK, I don’t want to defend WoW but BFA has more overland zones and a much bigger explorable landmass. In one expansion WoW will launch with way more dungeons than ESO will have released in the whole 2017/2018/2019 cycle. BFA will have more raids than Summerset/Elsweyr and 2018/2019 combined. Warfronts, world quests, island expositions .. etc etc .. WoW BFA doesn’t lack for content it is just bad. So bad that I didn’t even want to finish the main story.

I’m pretty sure WoW and FFXIV both put out way more content in a 2 year cycle then ESO does.
