    No it's not just the ball groups themselves.
    At 3 am in the morning there are no ballgroups around and yet you still get lagg
    The problem is there are way way way to many variables added into the game, such as skins outfits traits items potions etc etc.
    This makes every single person have so much going on during a fight that the servers have trouble keeping up.

    You can notice this very well when you have a very long 1v1 or 2v2.
    No one around in alikr or wherever you want and the longer the fight lasts the more MS and fps drops you will experience.

    The aoe skills are not the problem, the variable load for each and every skill and item proc calculation the server has to keep up with during a fight is the problem.

    This is also the reason why the server lag increased overtime.
    Not population increase in cyrodill ( because the pop lock has been downsized a few times ) but new items sets and poisons and even skill passives.

    I questioned this as well. OP does not want us to see where siege are hitting since all siege effects are to be removed.

    OP also does get that Zos has specifically said they want things to work in PvE like they work in PvP. Their request that poisons and enchants be disabled clearly shows a lack of knowledge of what Zos actually wants.

    Basically the suggestion in it's entirety would make PvP rather silly looking and really fails to get to the real issue with server lag. It is getting into local computations as well and we all should not be punished because things to not work to OP's liking on PS4.

    Have you ever tried shooting a meat bag into a group of 20 people in a big keep fight?
    Try it, and look at your fps and ms counter when you do.
    Then you'll see what I mean.

    Sometimes when you shoot you just disconnect for 2 seconds on EU.

    Probably would fix PVP lag because no one would play PVP anymore.

    This has to be one of the dumbest idea i've ever seen proposed on the forums. You want to take away everything that makes the game fun? I agree that something needs to be done about lag but this idea is ridiculous.

( i mean make sets with a buff or a stat that is on 100% of the time so the server doesn't have to keep track of these procs all the time )
    - make 1 type of CC animation , stun,root,slow not 10 like now.
    - disable different movement speeds, only 1 and not stackable.

    Id have much more fun if the game actually worked and you could have fights, turning some things down and disableing outfits and other RP nonsense can be used outside of pvp where it belongs.

    "Every MMO on the market". Like which? How many MMOs downgrade everyone's graphics, cosmetics and mounts, give players exactly three options to choose from when playing, remove NPCs making pvp truly pvdoor, reduce visual clarity to the point where caltrops look identical to oil because animations are gone? Name three. If you can't name at least three, then it's hardly "every MMO on the market". And besides, most of the things you list are not a problem in the first place.
    What could potentially solve lag would be bigger and better hardware on ZOS' part, but that would require some serious investments which might not be worth it according to the accountants department.
    So a software solution must be found. Currently they are looking at making non-visual effects less server intensive in the way they function. That's going to help a bit but probably won't be enough. Reintroducing faction lock will probably reduce server load too because every account only appears once in Cyrodiil. What I could see happening would be removing campaigns until there is only below50 and above50 (either with or without CP) left. Then only two versions of Cyrodiil need to be loaded. Maybe they even go as far as making one unified Cyrodiil that would have insufferably long queue times but at least be more or less lag free.
    So yeah, sacrificing key elements of what makes PvP fun would help nobody, especially when there are better ideas out there.
    This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

    Or you could just give console users a "low end laptop" type mode, where it looks nearly as bad as minecraft. All this would do though, is prove that most of your issues are server side.

    Ah, I thought this was a Cyrodiil related performance post. I mean, as long as it has no effect on my PC gameplay, I really don't care how horribly you mutilate console gameplay for your performance crusade. :p
