Meintenance?

First dont get me wrong. I`m not complaining. I`m just curious.
• [IN PROGRESS] PC/Mac: NA and EU for maintenance – May 13, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) – 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC)
Thought it will be 4 hours as usual, then i noticed its a 8 hour downtime?
Looked on the forums but there is nothing.
So whats the reason? Do some big changes inc or its a usual weekly meintenance but little longer ?

Wonder what they "fixed" on ps4, especially with the log in system?

Seems to take longer to log in and log out. Sometimes the first log out doesn't even take effect, and you have to log out two or three times.

They get the servers rekt. On May 21st they patch up the patch and hopefully don't rek even more parts of the game.

This sounds like fixed by Zenimax standards to me.

Possibly also because it was the May bank holiday in the UK and quite a few other countries - lots of people off work with nothing specific to do, so really not the day you want to take your game offline from 8am - 4pm.
