XP Pots or scrolls, and time spent getting shards and grinding the public dungeons like Deshaan or Orsinium for Fighters Guild levels, or for Magcro, a lorebook tirade. If I do nothing but level like that, I could easily have one popped out and ready to play in less than 5 days.
I'm doing the same thing, only with a cranky neutral-alignment character instead of evil. He's been a sorc for the past almost-two years, but I always wanted him to be a necromancer. I love the character, though, so he's being re-born.I'm re-making my existing evil character as a necromancer. Surprisingly being forced into Elsweyr instead of the appropriate starting point will almost work with the backstory I have for him (as long as I never double back and actually complete the Elsweyr DLC, that would make it a jumbled mess again, but I'm not planning on it so it should be ok).
So he can start in Elsweyr, move north into Reaper's March, become a vampire, then continue on to Davon's Watch and start the main story, then follow the same path as the existing character.
