Silly to have excluded the original two games, Arena and Daggerfall, not least when you've included a couple of games that weren't even TES games anyway. Those first two were actually my favourites as they were ground-breaking for their time. Skyrim was a great improvement on what had gone before graphically, but ultimately became rather boring once you'd raised your skills beyond a certain level, and the games inbetween were all ok but nothing special as I recall - I got bored with them long before finishing the main story as was the case with Skyrim, probably because there was so much to do in the games that I tended to leave the main story for later and then never got round to it. ESO is the only one that I have bought two copies of and played without interruption for 5 years so I guess that speaks volumes for its overall quality compared to the others.
Perhaps you should do a bit more research and then have a third attempt at creating a half-competent poll ?
ESO. The only other game I've played in the series was Skyrim. I spent a lot of time there, but not as much as I've spent in more linear single-player RPGs like DA:O, Mass Effects 1&2, or the two KOTORs.
Copying and adding on comment from other thread here:
Of those mentioned here, Oblivion, even though I loved Morrowind to bits when it came out ... but I loved Imperial City and its inhabitants in Oblivion even more. Especially the captains of the guard ^^.
But I also loved the (non-mobile) ES games not mentioned here - Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire and Redguard. Out of those, Daggerfall was my favorite (horse and cart, buying ships and houses, lots of fashion), although a) Arena and b) Battlespire will have a special place in my heart because of a) the passwall spell and b) Imago Storm.
Also where I created my Svanhilde, and she’s been with me in every game since, even beta, and she was my first character after waiting in log in queue on launch day. Nord Stam DK, and will never change her.
Grand Master Crafter, Beta baby who grew with the game. PC/NA. @Sheezabeast if you have crafting needs!
Have you heard of the High Elves? Arena, Daggerfall; Battlespire; Redguard; TES: Legends; TES: Blades; The Elder Scrolls Online?
"One fine day in the middle of the night. Two dead Kings got up to fight. Back to back they faced each other, drew their bows... and stabbed themselves...".
TES 2: Daggerfall. Still the best. In some cases even through the graphics are from the stone-age, some places look nicer to me in an atmospheric sense. When you get to the palace in Sentinel, for example, it's huge and the surroundings give me a sense of its size and greatness. I have to actually walk there. Looking at the palace in Sentinel, it's a bit like a doll house. However, to me it's mostly superior in terms of gameplay and story. Daggerfall got the best dungeons by far. The biggest problem is the interface, though. Daggerfall with a new interface? Wow.
When Morrowind got there, I didn't like that many features from Daggerfall got lost (like mounts, day/night cycle for npc and so on), but the mods made up for many things. I didn't like the main story in Morrowind, it felt very repetitive and I was so bored in my second or third playthrough. The complexity of the dungeons was a joke compared to Daggerfall and in general there were too many loading screens.
Oblivion was great, but felt like a theme park. Too many loading screens in the Imperial City. Dungeon complexity complete joke, although I learned later that they seemed to have only one guy designing the dungeons? That would explain a lot.
Skyrim is the best of the games with more modern graphics. I honestly like the less complicated skills system, because it was easy to power game the old system. In Morrowind gold meant character advancement through training and you could get really strong with some meta knowledge (=in your second playthrough). Skyrim did a lot better job in terms of "play as you want" than any other ESO game I have played, even more so than Daggerfall. The story is great, the atmosphere is one of the best, it is super immersive... I guess if Daggerfall wouldn't get a nostalgia bonus for me, Skyrim would be the best ES game by far from me.
From the games I've played in the last 20 years, Skyrim is definitely in the top 3 together with Terraria and Saints Row 3.
Morrowind because this was the first TES game I have played. Then I tried Daggerfall. And then... I tried Oblivion. And so far If you think about it, TES 4 Oblivion is probably the most Ambitious game that Bethesda made. Oh and btw. Situations like that in Oblivion... Priceless (Hold on to something and try not to die out of laughter) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eLzSEp8xlE&list=WL&index=6&t=0s
I have to say Skyrim because I’ve only played Skyrim and ESO. I started Oblivion but the clay faces and dramatic zoom ins from five feet away always make me laugh and I can’t take it seriously.
Daggerfall. But Morrowind ties as I had such great adventures there, looked great when it came out, and has the best atmosphere of any TES game imho.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."
I have to vote Skyrim because it’s the only one I’ve played to completion. I got my toon to level 66 just playing the thing to death.
I had a wonky 3D port going on that was pretty freaky lol.
I really enjoyed it but I can’t compare it to the others due to lack of experience.
I played a modded version of Morrowind after Skyrim with graphics reskin. I was really enjoying it but it fell apart and I just couldn’t face going back to the beginning- so no Morrowind for me

i am confused its atm with oblivion in front, but maybe since elder scrolls has been rising and some people just started later than with morrowind. but for a lot of morrowind players oblivion was pretty cheap on a lot things, like the variety of caverns and all those oblivion gates which looked same and had...like 5 different layouts. admittingly, i still had fun in oblivion, maybe also because a lot of things could be bypassed and once knowing the leveling and gearing system it was easy to plan in advance once you knew everything. skyrim was a lot better on a lot of things than oblivion again - tho, one thing was better than skyrim - the guild quests. they were interesting, without cheap fillers, they were demanding - doing brotherhood with the extra loot always required you to really sit down and think about ur steps and finding solutions to the problems. still i will always favorize morrowind over everything else. its just the whole surrounding and atmosphere, which as been created really alien-like. cyrodiil was pretty generic in oblivion and even if skyrim did better than that again, whilst still beeing really relatable to our real world still, skyrim is also behind that, since i find that whole dragons-in-fantasy-thing generic as well. its been on the commercial side a hit, and created a bigger fanbase, but also killed the idk..."awkwardness" i fell in love with in morrowind, tbh also eso didnt do morrowind a favor on that.
Comment on daggerfall voters: I never came to test it. I tried multiple times, and I am stil having it, but failed on the tutorial, which has been known to be pretty hard. When daggerfall started, i was maybe also too young, and later used to sthg else, to get into that graphics and ui. Its a shame, I could never actively experience the story.

"I have too admit. People leading trade guilds in this game are quite stupid. Not stupid like fools, but stupid like leaders.
They can only bla-bla and waste gold on feeding their ego. I am disappointed."
