Greetings everyone, i just recently came back to ESO after a very very long break (ugh RL B) ) and was hoping to get a few general type questions replied to that i haven't been able to find answers yet with 'forum search' ...

1) everyone keeps saying "Don't worry about armor until you hit 'champion 160' ! " ---- What exactly does that mean? In other words, once i hit '160' (i'm only at '140' as of now) does all the armor i loot/make after that pretty much get applicable from 160-810 ? And will it also apply to PVP or do most people have 2 different sets nowadays for pvp & pvp ?

2) trying to understand this whole 'Guild Trader' npc/tent thing ... So basically, once i place a 'bid' on a 'Hire Trader' (and win the bid) , i have that NPC for 1 week? But then what happens after that 1 week timer expires? Does it auto-renew and draw from our guild-bank? Do we basically have the NPC forever until our guild-bank runs out of gold?

3) i've been seeing a few players sometimes with the name: "Emperor _____ ______" (NOT their title , i'm talkin' their actual toon name itself) ... How is this possible? Zenimax allows players to name their toon with "Emperor" prefix?? (i admit, as an actual 'Former Emperor' , i find this offensive lol )

4) a couple of questions i asked the other day in 'housing' forums: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/472078

5) i logged in today and got a pop-up UI saying i had "1000 new subscriber Crown Points" , with a clicky to "CLAIM" them.... So i did. But yet, i still don't have the extra 1000 crowns. Is this because that pop-up refers to the "free" 1000 we get every month with ESO+ ? And so those 1000 will be delivered as per each individual player's specific renew date?

6) is Cyrodiil & Imperial City still considered "endgame" content? Or is it 'Trials' now?

7) someone told me i might be "1 of the only players on the server" still with a 'Pact Brigand Mercenary Contract' (Cyrodiil pvp item) . Where might i find a list of what some of the other ultra rare items/armor in the game are? And/or, some of the rarely unlocked quests/missions? (and if possible, try not to *spoiler* too much plz --- Yes i realize that's probably a weird request considering the very question itself lol but hopefully u guys know what i mean)) <---IGNORE THAT, CUZ I SHOULD MAINTAIN SOME ESO MYSTERIES

Thanks very much for your time! --- regards, Nee

    Hey buddy, welcome back!

So champion 160 is the gear cap, gear doesn't scale passed 160.

You only get bonus % in CP

    2. No, you need to rebid I believe. You're correct about the rest.
    3. Its not emperor its empireror, a buncha fakes who wish they had emp title. Oh, unless we're talking about RPers, yah they do that. Its a joke of a name imo, offensive to those who worked for it.
    4. Housing is a lot of detail, i'll let another go into detail.
    5. We get 1600/month of ESO+ sub, I'm not too sure what the 1000 is? Sorry I can't help with this.
    6. Trials, Cyrodiil, DLC, theres a lot of end game, pick your route.
    7. I have the contracts as well in my bank, don't use them just flex them. A lot of items are coming back, but they still do have a lot of other rare items.

    1. Gear is capped at 160
    2. You have to bid each week
    6. As for end game, it's whatever you feel like. Just like before really. "End game" never really applied to ESO in the "progression sense". There are things to do, and you do what appeals to you

ah ok, cool THANKS @Casterial and @UPrime for the speedy replies !

One more quickiee i forgot to ask in my OP:

    8) certain enemy npc's do this like forward FLIP manuever right over my head sometimes and it's SO AWESOME lol ... Is it possible for a Player to learn that 'skill' ? And if so, which Class/build ?

I don't think players can learn this one, but it is tight!

    Welcome back!

Only thing I would add is in reference to pvp/pve gear, you'll want two sets, impenetrable trait (at least 4-5 pieces depending on who you ask) armor and crit damage are king in pvp, divines trait in pve. Most adjust champion points when switching from pve to PVP also.

sorry, just thought of 1 more newb-ish question...

    9) Where/how do i find out the 'stat CAP' for every type of stats listed on my character-sheet ? I did a quick forum search but only found this old thread from 2015 ---> https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/202016

    Thanks much!

Man you should really stick to black as your font color, its kinda distracting when you read text thats not black on white.

nah i'm good , it's just 'dark blue' (very close to "black" ) and i been using it since 2013 without any problems...until now lol

thanks for the suggestion though B) and pretty impressive trolling by you tbh since the time that must've taken for you to create rainbow alternating color/letters 1 by 1 over & over like that lol

The only actual caps are physical/spell resistances. They cap at 33k each. (That is equal to 50% mitigation, you can read more here about how mitigation works https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/279426/damage-mitigation-explanation-updated-for-morrowind-new-calculator/p1)

EDIT: Btw if you pvp, you can go above caps as players will have physical/spell penetration to remove some of your resistances. (Going above cap in pvp may result in quite a boring experience however)

Regarding your question about old rare items, only things I can think of are the Jaedi and Lire runes for enchanting, they're usually listed for a few hundred k each.

cool , thanks much @seventyfive ! Quick follow-up: What exactly do you mean by "quite a boring experience" ? (i'm going to presume you mean "boring" as in it's "boring" not to die as much? But tbh i wasn't really certain what you meant by that. )

Anyways, thanks for the EDIT about 'rare items' too. Another follow-up: What about the 'Defiler armor set' ? Would that be considered "rare" too? And where/how does one even acquire it? Just normal looting? (the only thread i found in searching forums about it was this one from 2017 ---> https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/339330 )

You used two different words and they mean very different things, so I want to explain how this system works and the important difference between HIRE and BID, which I'll get to in a moment.

Here's a rundown of how it each week works:

Starting at 9:05PM Eastern on Sunday, anyone with a 50+ member guild has the option to bid on a trading kiosk. You may only bid on one kiosk per week, so make your choice count; you're locked into that kiosk once you place your first bid. Remember that bidding is blind; you will not see any other guild's bid or even know if another guild has bid on the same kiosk. You may continue to increase the amount you've bid on the kiosk... until...

At 8:55PM on Sunday, the bids lock and no one may update their amount.

At 9:00PM, the kiosks flip and are awarded to the highest bidder.

At 9:05PM, if no one has bid on a kiosk over the week (super rare) the kiosk is put up for hire with the option for Hire Trader appearing. First person to hit Hire Trader and get their payment (10k) in wins the kiosk for *this* week.

At 9:05PM, you may also start BIDDING for the *next* week (staring in 7 days) using Bid on Trader.

And the whole thing starts over again. You must bid each week. There is no autorenew.

Well, I just meant that with resistances above caps you're not gonna do a lot of damage.

The Defiler set seems to be an Overland set, so just random normal looting at the specific place it drops.

If you go to this website and click "Sets by content type" you will see the different categories.

Ty for posting a full breakdown. The trader bid process is not something I've been a part of and I would guess the same is true for a lot of long time eso players.

    3 - Might be an AddOn/Library

There's one called "LibCustomTitles" which allows players that have been deemed worthy by the author (and of course the author himself) to have custom in-game titles. There might be something similar for character names.

There are quite a lot of AddOns that include "LibCustomTitles" and you'll never know you even have it until you see a player with a title like "lolz, n00b u canz nevuh beat meh, i noz lolz, n00b" ...
