Should Maelstrom Weapon Style Pages Drop in Normal?

Looks like the Orsinium Event is open to test on this PTS patch ... with Maelstrom style pages having a chance to drop in normal.

For players who have dedicated the time to get their vMA weapons ... should style pages only be gated to vMA clears?

Yes... why not...? You can BUY the pages anyways.

I don’t care at all. The function is what makes vMA weapons great, not the style. IMO they are not nice looking and the first thing I do is hide them with outfit styles. If you want to show off your vMA completion just use the Stormproof or Flawless Conqueror titles.

thought I would say the styles should not drop in normal. I do not see a reason for someone to have styles for that weapon if they cannot clear it on vet. No logic in that.

For myself I don't care either way, but I would show support for any players who objected to it because they earned their weapons the hard way.

My hope is that they'll release the Asylum staff style when the Clockwork City event rolls around. I like the look of that one better than the Maelstrom staff, and it has no corresponding achievement attached to it, since the trial is easy to complete on normal.

I see your style page and raise you a Flawless Conqueror. Cosmetic fluff is cosmetic and fluffy. If people want to RP as someone who has completed VMA, go for it.

Fine with it since the styles are tradeable anyways and it has a lower drop rate. Be interested to see just how low/common they will be in normal though.

I absolutely don't care.

I don't know that I've ever actually noticed another player's VMA weapon after the first couple months. I won't notice them having them as outfit style options.

Seeing as it's just the styles, I literally see no reason to not have them avaiable [as a chance] for people who do it nroaml and as a gantureeded drop on vet...honestly i hope they also dot he same thing with the master weapons in dsa.

Years and years ago when VMA was 'hard' and transmogs and shiny crown store weapon styles weren't a thing I wouldve said no, there was a sense of grandeur to having those ugly, electric *** looking staves.

Now you can beat vma with a cp160 one bar pet sorc while checking your tumblr. And even if you cant so what? People buy dromothra destroyer and shadow skin and big, WoW style crown store weapons, its all just cosmetic stuff. Stop assigning meaning to the way characters look, their costume, titles, whatever. Good players play good and don't care what anyone else is doing or wearing.

the chance has to be low. you can already run nma quite fast (for most people the difference between nma and vma is significant) so the drop chance has to more than account for the time difference.

First, you can buy them from the Impresario - surprised you're concerned with them dropping in normal when someone doesn't even have to do normal to get them.

Second, presumably they're tradable, so players can also buy them from other players and don't even have to do normal to get them.

Bottom line, players doing vet will have guaranteed drops and can make money off players who don't even want to do normal to get them. And, presumably, a player would have to do normal A LOT in order to even get half the pages. Or, they can just do delves/WBs each day for tickets and buy from the Impresario, or just grind gold and buy them from other players

Players will be able to sport this style without even doing normal.

They are literally salvaged parts from dwemer animunculi, tho not for everyone

I don't understand why people think the cosmetic style needs to be special to those who can beat vet. These weapons don't even look that great and it's not like the style is particularly rewarding. If you want to feel special then do it on vet and show off the actual weapon although I am guessing most people put a style over it anyways.

I think that making the maelstrom weapon style pages to anyone is silly. Right now, only those with the weapons can have an authentic display of the weapons. The style pages being made available to just anyone removes authentic display of VMA weaponry. IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE??? (the answer is no)
