I would sub to ESO till the death of the game if this game had long raids and raid bosses. I would also be willing to pay 20 a month instead of 15. The lack of this feature is the only reason I discontinued my sub as quick as it began.

ESO has the 3 craglorn raids, MOL and HOF, it also has two mini raids, it get an new full raid with next expansion.
They are called trials for some reason.

IMO multi-hour raids would be an absolute nightmare in this game.

This isn't slow, cooldown-based combat like WoW. During an ESO raid you are performing actions nonstop for the duration. My fingers would fall off if I had to do that for 2+ hours straight.

I feel like WoW works better with the longer raid model because they typically have only one, maybe two, relevant raids at a time. ESO trials remain relevant years later for gear and, somewhat, with difficulty.

It's nice in ESO to not have to dedicate several hours a week to a single raid clear (unless you're progging).

Progression raids are also closely tied to gearing and seasons. Where there is a clear BiS sets. ESO tries to not to do that. At least make it a little less obvious. Instead option for adding choices and not make other thing irrelevant.

Yes, The first two were added less than 2 months after the game was launched.

Yea, the game would not be able to handle that well. It also does not really serve any purpose other than to have a larger group for the sake of it can causes more work to organize.

Aside from the already mentioned fact that Raids exist in ESO. I would like to see longer ones. Some Dungeons and longer than some Trials. I'm hoping Sunspire fills that need.

Multiple hours raid are an absolute nightmare in every game.
I can't wait to be skillfull enough to get on ESO trials. Now if I could resist the urge to roll a Necro, it would help me.

I want a raid that I can solo in less than 30 seconds and that drops BIS gear. Is that too much to ask?

    someone hasn't done vhof.

raids are way more attention and skill intensive in this game than most games. you don't just proc stuff off cooldown. your rotation is constantly dynamic, you have to pay attention to mechanics and a crap ton of other stuff while weaving and maximizing dps / heals / tanking. If you had to do that for 4 or 5 hours you'd die.

Everyone has to get up periodically for reasons while playing and Trials already require a long duration of 100% attention. My first Trial runs where it took nearly two hours were brutal, I was literally shaking at the end of Vet Aetherian Archive. So a Trial that lasts for like, 4+ hours? I'd never even bother.

As I understand its MoL length, however all the bosses has an HM option who is pretty genius.

Long raids dont work the way eso is set up i think
Trials are completed - if not even farmed - repeatedly to collect gear which as others have stated keeps them relevant for a long time... even long dungeons become very tiresome if you are farming for gear...

ESO doesnt have Lockouts (kinda like savegames for dungeons and raids) therefore the dungeons and raids have to be shorter to be finished in one sitting (unless you let someone idle with a move macro in the instance to artificially save progress, that method was used in early mol days on rakkhat progress).

    OP is wrong

1 trials/raids already exist, some are long, some are shorter

2 while there is a vocal demand for high end content, by its very definition it is only undertaken by a fraction of the playerbase and successfully completed at the highest level by even fewer players

3 if there was demand you would have no problem filling trial groups. The fact you can’t always fill them challenges the notion that there is the demand the OP refers to

While I like trials, I understand that there are probably way more players who will do the quest based storyline and nothing else, than will ever do trials. In concentrating on this, ZOS is simply giving the playerbase what they want.

Sorry you’re leaving, can I have your stuff?

Honestly I wish esos combat was slower. It’s super immersion breaking and too Arcadian like for my taste. I would like to too see stronger and more intersting abilities being used more spaced then spamming a big mash of stuff together :/

Seriously, multi-hour raids were a nightmare in WoW and RIFT. I can't even imagine running that sort of stuff in this game.
