Does Magicka Specs Deserve a Morph for Magicka Dawnbreaker?

I understand that Fighter's Guild is supposed to be for Stamina, and Mages Guild is for Magicka Players - but this adhering to sticking to that idea has resulted in magicka classes not having access to a reliable burst ultimate. The Meteor Ultimate is extremely mediocre, easily blockable and mitigatable. I have seen 2-3 meteors dropped on someone at 30 percent or lower and not even effect them as they have healing up and can see it coming from the beginning. Dawnbreaker on the other hand is immediate and hits extremely hard and is extremely potent. I think Magicka would benefit from having one of the morphs, Flawless Dawnbreaker, Changed to Magicka Damage. Magicka used to have a Magicka Version of Dawnbreaker and it was in a much better state.. Stamina currently dominates pvp outside of Mag Sorc. I wanted to take a poll to see what everyone else thought.

Both morphs are used. One is BiS in pve and the other is BiS in PvP...
Play no-CP, and just use any ultimate you want.

    Let's run down the classes:
    • Magsorc doesn't need it, as they already have an AOE stun with good damage and have no problems bursting down opponents.
    • Magicka templar could use it, as the Toppling buff isn't nearly enough to make up for nerf to Total Dark.
    • Magicka DK doesn't need it, as Leap is already an AOE burst damage CC.
    • Magicka warden could use it to combo with Shalks I guess? But at that point you may as well just play stamwarden.
    • Magicka NB could probably make good use of it, but Soul Harvest is already very good and simply iconic. Whatever mag NB needs, I don't think it's more damage ult options.

So it looks a magicka Dawnbreaker would fill a current gap only for magplar. And as a longtime templar main, I can assure you that the reason magplar would benefit from a new ult option isn't that there aren't enough non-class magicka ults in the game, it's that magplar is an outdated, poorly designed, overnerfed class.
7-day PVP campaign regular 2016-2019, Flawless Conqueror. MagDK/stamplar/stamwarden/mageblade. Requiem, Legend, Knights of Daggerfall. Currently retired from the wars; waiting on performance improvements.

Yes, Make one of the Morphs of Dawnbreaker Magicka Damage.
I’ve noticed a lack of ranged aoes. I think it’s intentional that good aoe abilities are all melee range.

Soul Assault is the magicka version really, and it’s single target.

You can also use dawnbreaker as a magicka toon. It scales with the higher of the two stats like all ultimates.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Play in non-CP. Magwardens and Magsorcs can hit harder with Dawnbreaker than let's say stamplar or stamDK.

I mean if we can get stamina meteor, lol.

On my magplar im quite happy with Crescent sweep, magblades have both soul tether and soul harvest, both are pretty good ultimates, its just magblades are not that great rn.

DKs have leap, magdens permafrost(and with major heroism it can be used almost as much if not more than db on most stam classes.).

And sorcs, well Negate can be a big game changer in group combat, and i atro is not a bad ulti at all.

As for landing meteors, on my magplar its my backbar ulti and i use it mostly to bomb groups with it, its pretty rare that everyone in a 6-8 man grp will block it, its not really a single target ultimate, even if it stick to one person.

Play no-CP, and just use any ultimate you want.

Ultimates only scale off the type of penetration that their damage is. Even in non-CP an ultimate that does physical damage will be less effective on Magicka characters.

Meteor is the ultimate that needs a rework not Dawnbreaker.

No, we really don't need both magicka and stamina classes spanming dawnbreaker in pvp. And denying every stamina pve player a critical buff when stam is already underdog in pve just because you have the typical pvp grass is greener fever is ridiculous. Magicka has plenty of strong ult choices. Shooting star is a poweful combo tool with cc and coordination, solar flare still has great cheese potential with harmony (pretty sure theres a nerf solar flare thread like 5 lines down) and there's always destro ult Balorgs combo for real fun.

Honestly really tired of every pts cycle becoming a cluster of 'Why the exact build I play needs serious buffs and everything else needs to be nerfed!' Its a high carb distraction that hurts attempts to communicate real issues and address the actual content being tested.

I know that, but, I mean, it's less of a problem in no CP. Sure, it's not optimal (especially for magicka characters) but in my opinion, some options are viable in No-CP whereas they're not in CP.

Penetration is one of the single largest sources of increased damage in non-CP, especially on Magicka characters. It's far more than not optimal.

Fighter's Guild abilities are for stamina characters and Mage's Guild abilities are tied to magicka characters. Your request for a magicka-based Dawnbreaker is just as nonsensical as asking for a stamina-based Meteor. The guild skill lines exist as they are for a reason.

im fine with it being stam only. They should redesign the weapon ultimates so players dont feel stuck with DB and make soul assault less of a Xv1 carry.

I agree, as magicka player, both dawnbreaker morphs should remain stamina.

But what you said is ridiculous. Shooting Star as """"strong"""" ultimate? Its joke.
Damage delay and visual clues are enought even for starting player to understand he/she should block it. Aoe part is small and you can easily walk away from it.

This ultimate was popular only when it was bugged - you could cast it several times in row when cyrodiil was laggy

It’s not an excuse at all. Both morphs are used all the time for two different applications. A much better option would be to rework meteor to make it more effective. If ZOS gives stam classes morphs of their class skills then maybe we can talk about a mag morph of DB.

and still we have more magica ults at all

do you all remember days when dawnbreaked ult in ovrerall was dealing magica damage like almost every other ult in this game?
change dawnbreaker to physical damage was 1st step to give something to stamina to be more viable and was if I good remebmer just 1st ult massively used by stamina builds as there was almost if even no any other ult which was able to scale for stamina builds via cp and very usable ult

btw to question for magica dawnbreaker....how about stamina meteor, how about stamina ele storm somwehere? but make it blade storm to make it logic?
stamina dk standard? stamina sorc overload?
