the other morph gives u a very nice heal, this 1 pushes u back lol,
give it extra dmg or a dot or w/e
it's funny how useless it is.

It does extra dmg. The problem is that the push back is really clumsy and can send you in middle of a zerg if you have latency issues. No push back and a debuff would make it useful (something like fracture for example).

Another solution could be a bounce (or a couple of them) to an enemy in certain area as an antizerg skill. Like PoE Ricochet

    not "stupid" in the Least.
because if we are up close to you in your face with our bow, we will die within a few seconds.
being kept at a distance and hidden is our only defense as ranged archers.
and thats not something new, this has been going on in mmo's now for me for almost 20 years.
im also an archer in real life as well.
and if im up in the Bears face with my bow, im a dead man!
i Love the skill and i use it all the time, its perfect. its comfortable and its able to be used in many situations to protect myself.
i use it, love it, and so do many people i see use it as well
it perfect for the type of playstyle i use, as it keeps me AND my enemies at a distance so im not destroyed.
as an archer that needs to be kept far from the enemy.
its perfect for me, not fair to have it changed and destroyed just because you dont like it.

and yes im being serious, as an archer this skill is mandatory to keep the enemy at a distance.
just a side note: is it possible people would make threads saying a skill is stupid or bad to have it removed because they dont like that skill being used against them in pvp? i am not saying that is what is happening here in this thread but, i think its possible that it does happen here on the forums in an attempt to destroy bow skills and bow skill line.

u need to learn how to play this.

i've used it and played in BG against this, but if u want to keep melee at a range, this is a very good tool.

A bit off topic, but the in game physics of this skill and draining shot are pretty hilarious / bad. You often don't know where it is going to send your target. It seems to knock them more in the vector or reverse vector they are already moving than in the vector that the shot is fired. Sometimes it just stuns them in place.

Both morphs are good. One allows you to CC them and get more aggressive because you have that heal coming in, the other is definitely more defensive and does more damage.

It should only stun them in place if you're attacking from sneak. For some reason attacking from sneak overrides the CC from silver leash, dizzy swing, as well as this skill. If you want to get the cc from these abilities from stealth cloak but don't crouch.

No, it's not... because 22m ranged spammable gap closers are a thing. Also: Scattershot is a dodgable projectile. Also also: The push back won't affect the target when it is under cc immunity.

Problem is not with magnum shot being underpowered but with draining shot being too overloaded with goodies. Draining shot should be nerfed when ZoS increased range of base ability to 28 meters or they should actually leave draining as it was and increase just range of magnum shot. The problem is they already designed whole blackrose bow around that 28 meters range because they were lacking ideas of what to do with that weapon.

    alright mr. Hot Shot.

maybe it's not very good against you.

but it's damn good against most people in BG, and some, occasionally, in Cyro as well.
    1. ranged spammable isn't the first thing in ur mind when ur running towards me with this skill on the ready. if it is, i'll be over there already and it's a different story. also, i too can follow-up scatter shot with a poison and a couple snipe before most people can recover.
    2. dodgeable if u expect it. not when ur trying to close the gap. considering its not a common skill to slot, hence most people don't expect it.
    3. yes it wont affect it when target is CC immune. just like all other classes trying all other CC skills. so all their skills are bad?

    Context, my good man.

It's a good tool. better than just "situational". and in my experience, it's very effective.

    i don't think it needs a buff.

but it doesn't make it a good escape tool.

the rest of your post just consists of pseudo arguments.
    1. You have no idea what I'm thinking about when I engage combat. The stun of scattershot lasts 1.5 seconds, that's clearly not enough time to "follow up with a couple snipes", when each snipe takes 1.1 seconds to cast.
    2. Pure pseudo argument. People are dodging more often than not. Dodge rolling is very effective to gap close ranged players. The ranged players can't hit the approaching player, when the player is roll dodging its way to the ranged player. Most players also run a bow back bar, which will make them 30% faster, reaching the ranged player even sooner. Even if you manage to land a hit, then what? The push back has a cooldown, dodge rolls and gap closers do not, which makes dodge rolls and gap closers far more effective than scattershot will ever be!
    3. What is this supposed to be? Who said the skill was bad? It's not a bad skill but it's not a good tool to keep players at distance either.

Also: just because something might be effective against inexperienced newbies doesn't make it actually good.

    Context, my good man. Context!
