Why EU pts server?

I play NA exclusively, because I am an American since birth. BUT... The PTS is trying to make me play EU??? Come on ZOS! I have all the toons I want on NA, and I'm not going to start fresh on EU!

The two-week PTS rotation between NA and EU character copies has been in place for years, @Esmaralda.

If you didn't allocate time to do testing with your NA characters the last two (2) weeks that's your own fault.

If it makes you feel better, you'll lose everything you do on PTS anyway the next time it's wiped and reset. So don't feel like you have to commit.

Wipes and resets happen a lot on PTS even to copy chars, so it really doesn't matter what pts server your testing on.

PTS on murican server technically not possible, since the server is not using metric system.

If you wish to test on the PTS throughout the testing cycle you have two options traveller.

You may roll a template character which comes ready supplied with all the goodies you could possibly need.

You may also create an apprentice on the EU server just so you always have them there and ready for testing.

Khajiit has a little US cousin Tickle Claws for just this very reason.

Apropos of nothing, except starting a new character on a different server, I sure hope that when they adjust CP, they fix level 50 to CP 160 to be less hellish. Stats should be detached from numbers of CP assigned, and all those never-again used crafting mat levels need to go or at least there need to be fewer of them. Just as you stop receiving skill points for gaining levels, you need 5 per craft by the time you gain 150 CP to make current gear. It's just a downer in every possible way for first characters.

Is this the reason why I don't have any of the templates chars I created the first two weeks?

Yes, in the first 2 weeks ZOS copies the NA-Characters. At week 3 EU-Chars get copied and all previous chars on PTS are wiped.

That is correct, each mega server population gets their turn for testing. When the EU characters are copied over, your NA characters are wiped.

However, you can still go back on the PTS and create a new maxed out character using the templates on the character creation screen if you want to continue testing.

Thanks for the replies, now it's clearer.

Is there any way or trick I can do to prevent my templates chars from getting wiped? Or is that something bound to happen?
I lost everything, even the stuff I had in the craft bag and the guilds I joined lol

PTS takes a snapshot of the server. Evertyhing is temporarily here, since it switches between EU and NA snapshot. You had guilds and stuff because you have it on real NA server, but on EU you don't.

That gets wiped too, no need to wait two weeks, nothing on the PTS is permanent ...
