Midyear Mayhem Rewards

Pelinal's Midyear Boon Boxes can contain:
20-80 Tel Var Stones
A Repair Kit, or three filled Soul Gems
Transmute Geode
And one of the following:
A set of Alchemy ingredients
A Style Item for your Alliance's style
A Raw Style Item for Akaviri
A Daedric Siege Weapon
A Midyear Mayhem book furnishing
A Forward Camp for your Alliance
A Chapter (or rarely, the full book) for your Alliance's Motif
A Prismatic Runestone
A Chapter (or rarely, the full book) for the Akaviri Motif

Why is it that PvP event rewards are always so lackluster compared to the PvE event rewards? I can get really rare stuff with a bit of luck just by doing crafting writs on 15 characters in week 1 and 5 of the current PvE event. What do we get here? Stuff that’s really cheap on vendors and some emotes if you turn the standards in.

It’s really as uninspired as the end of campaign rewards already are. I’d like to know why PvP is always left behind when it comes to these things.

    100% agree. Especially:
20-80 TV Stones ...an average kill gives more..
A Repair Kit ...your armor doesn't suffer in PvP...
Transmute Geode ...i can stone you to death with my Transmute Geodes...
    and so on... :/

It's so that the PvE'ers don't have to cry about being forced to PvP. If the rewards are undesirable enough, PvE'ers won't be interested in obtaining them and, thus, won't complain about them only being available through PvP.

Just look at what happened during Week 3 of the Anniversary Event. They cried so many rivers that I will never have to farm Lorkhan's Tears again!

Nobody is forced to do anything. I never understood that line of thinking.

Yesterday Glirion awarded me an event box containing 10 rough maple, 5 pristine shroud. I'd say they're equally lackluster. Running crafting writs with 15 characters is not something I'd call PvE, unless you mean player RP-ing a hamster in a treadmill.

The difference is the upside potential of your PvE boxes.
You can get unique style pages and valuable motifs. The PvP rewards on the other hand offer noch such thing, and in fact haven't really changed since the first time we had this event. So not only are the rewards crappy, but they have been the same crappy rewards since the inception of this event. Which means everybody already has that stuff.

The reason they are so poor is if they were good the PvErs would be in pvp getting killed and then moaning on the forums

You get double AP as well :p

On a more serious note about that ridiculous PvP-PvE comparison, pve players can no way avoid you from doing writs, dungeons, delves, whatever the heck on earth you want. But pvpers literally can avoid you from participating in pvp events, can enjoy doing it, can flatter about it in every chance they get and then they wonder why they don't get better stuff in pvp events. Answer looks obvious to me. Don't even dare compare doing writs to doing pvp events.
