Cyrodiil needs to be built up, with better systems instead of a DAoC reskin. This DAoC stuff needs to end and remain cradled in history.

Cyrodiil needs original ideas, if you need inspiration there was Asherons Call, Shadowbane, UO.. from the old-school as well.

Special Weapons need to die before they even are given life.

From the looks of it, it won’t even be good. Just something to *** around with. It’s kind of silly. The concept of it doesn’t work at all in ESO PvP beyond being a kind of novelty. Give it a bit of time and I half expect that barely anyone will bother going after it anymore because 1) it won’t be as good as having your own skills and 2) you’ll get mobbed the moment you pick it up.

As per the patch notes today, Volendrung will no longer be affected by battle spirit. Meaning you can heal yourself and deal 50% more damage then anyone else in Cyrodiil. That is a huge buff.

It's actually 100% more (than before 5.0.2). I think I'll stay away from whoever is wielding that thing, let the zergs handle it.

That's exactly why it's a waste of tech and resources. We should kill it before it even makes it live.

    I wielded it.
It is a bit better but still bad against enemy players.
I'm just a bit confused why certain player who wielded it last night was so strong, while the other players who wielded it were not.
If there are some builds which can make this weapon OP, like increasing light and heavy attacks damage, single target damage etc. it won't be fair.
The weapon needs to be on the same strength level for all players and not 300% better for a player who figured out a build to make it a super weapon.

So-called lighting patch was 1.2, I think (although they only noted interior lighting, iirc something changed outdoors as well, e.g. runes' glow). 1.6 was Tamriel Unlimited, Crown Store, Champion System and all that crap.

Everyone with brain can easily 1v1 person using that weapon in the matter of seconds. Your defense while You wield it is equal to zero. I was on PTS few minutes ago and killed solo 3 wielders of that weapon and each kill took me less then 10 seconds. I also died to 2-3 people when I was using it. The problem is to get the shield and heal from that weapon You need to kill someone so if You'll encounter enemy with brain You're dead. Also if they lifted battle spirit part reducing damage taken that will be more of a nerf then buff.

No, 1.6 flushed all balance efforts made in previous patches down the drain, it was a disaster.

A spawnable skill line is always going to end up in the buff-n-nerf maelstrom, please just don't waste anymore time on it.

Siegecrafting, crafted PvP sets, Sheo wiping out Molag from Cyro, terrain changes, breaking fast travel, adding mount speed to the roads and reduced speed in the wilderness, environmental RNG like Meteor Showers, uh angry boss mobs like Dragons spilling into Cyro, upgraded keeps,

Sheogorath himself, Hircine unleashing a horde of Werewolves, Lamae Bal turning into a daedra,

Anything but player controlled skill lines with mega weapons.

i wielded it too. even with the buff.

    damage much better now.

but without Vigor/defense buff, honestly it's like a wet paper.

Dont' get me wrong, I think it's fine the way it is.... if a zerg picks it up, u can have 2-3 healers buffing/healing, then it'll be super powerful.

Imagine the usual zerg keeping a keep defender occupied, then suddenly BOOM BOOM BOOM HELLO WHOS THERE IT IS ME MARIO!

    *wall opened*

That'll be fun. No it won't be OP coz people will still scramble and kill the wielder before he gets to Inner door, but it'll make things more fun.

Any more heal to this weapon WILL TRULY make it OP and no one wants to come to Cyro...

buffing the weapon by additional 50% damage against enemy players wouldn't hurt.
Also, adding healing buff like some mutagen will be nice.
It is still weak against seasoned 1v1 or 1vX.

I argued in favor of that too, because AoEs caps where a band aid to the larger problem.

    And they're dumb.

Fix lightning patch, update Cyrodiil, get rid of the instant travel, make the map dynamic and unique.

They said they want to introduce chaos, great! Now introduce bloody chaos.

Random meteor showers, rampaging bosses, siege smithing, make the way gates constantly need to be maintained.

I understand it's intent, but the time spent on something about to go through the Buff-n-Nerf Maelstrom, the time spent on that, could have been time spent on Cyrodiil.

Plenty of other ways to make experience entertaining without another skill line.
