Stamplar needs attention.

We are currently the worst PvE DPS class in the game by a mile. We have some of the worst healing and defensive capability in PvP of all stam builds. We have never, in the history of this game, been the best class in PvE or PvP. We have always been underperforming. Something needs to change ZOS, a lot of us on Templar discord are getting sick and tired of it.

Parses from two Stamplars:
https://youtu.be/Zr9-KIKGPmc
https://youtu.be/pjHjMLW51uk

Barely pushing the 80k barrier. BARELY.

Here’s a parse from Stamcro, and a parse from Stamden:
https://youtu.be/lCXfIY3Q7tA
https://youtu.be/gX_a5IKSREQ

Both pushing the 100k barrier. A 15k+ differential. This is just not okay on so many levels.

My suggestion is to double the initial damage of POTL, make the explosion able to crit, and remove the group component. This would also be a great buff for PvP stamplar as POTL is already underperforming as a burst tool when compared to the likes of curse. Obviously this wouldn’t close a 15k gap alone but it’s a start.

PvP wise, the main thing the class needs is better healing. The new ritual change is good, but the crit still scales off spell crit so you see on average 15% total crits, making it scale off highest crit would make it more sensical. Furthermore passives need updating, currently Stamplar’s healing has been nerfed 3 times (Major Mending, Crit heals, Minor Vitality) and has not seen compensation from passives that currently only effect Magplar. My suggestion is to change the Mending passive to buffing HOTs by 15%, allowing for Stamplar to take advantage of it as well.

These are just a few spitballs, but regardless, I am going to be loud on the forums from here on out because something needs to be done.

Agreed although you know for sure we’re not seeing passives updated this patch. Hopefully they’re in the pipeline for this year. I also doubt we will see much further changing of class skills at least to the extent we would like to. So dig in and get ready to face the necro swarm. It’s gonna be rough.

Don't forget the DMG from ritual of Retribution still shows mag damage. So it has to be increased by mag based CP.

I believe it is intended that way.

Great move to compare it with currently bugged pet classes that will be adjusted, not a best way to communicate an issue.

The real difference is 3-4k at max from my personal testing with sorc and nb with no pets involved, will see parses from better players next week if crit will be adjusted. (Liko's potl-less stamplar (86) and breath stamdk (88) are already up to compare)

We need potl and new jab animation fixed to begin with but any buff will be much appreciated, new mag dk comboing way is quite an interesting option to aim at here. But again, without fixing potl in a first place it's quite hopeless and just sad.

Templars are suppose to be healers and healing people.
focus on that, and i promise you will see good results.
constantly we see these threads asking for increase in damage for templars and i just dont see how that should be a thing.
healers are suppose to Heal people, they can do damage, but it should be limited.
why? because that would be overpowered to be able mass damage and mass heals.
the more you can heal, the less damage you should be able to do.
it only makes sense, and no im not joking.
    my honest beliefs.
if you dont want to heal then why be a templar?
you see Templars healing people and they do great.

you see people asking for healers in zone chat as we are looking to finish a hard dungeon, then some one enters the group, and low and behold its a nightblade or a dragonite or a sorc and they claim they can heal us, soo we trust and wonder as we enter the cave and the Same thing HAppens EVERY TIME, we all die, why? because we needed a proper healer, we then see a Templar enter the group and kick out the fake healer and "walla" BAM we finish the cave 1st try.
not trolling, just my honest opinion.

The jab spam rotation was just thought of and uploaded by Liko a few hours ago...I know because myself him and Nos have all been trying to find ways to break 85k. So it did good to decrease the gap, but even without pets, we’ll be pulling much less then Stamcro and Stamden.

Isn't jab also suffering from the channeling/cast time weaving issue that makes the animation last longer than it should?

The fact that potl is a dps loss is really bad, this skill needs adjustments.

Lol I don't exactly see you suggesting buffs to make stamplar healers so they can be a thing in trials/pvp, do I?

Leave the discussion for the Templar players. Your Zerg gameplay was buffed.

Just because you can potentially be a better healer than other classes, doesn;t mean that you can heal more of defend more than others if you play dd.

In short, lots of healing if you spec for heal does not necessarily means, that you will be better at defending if you build for dps.

So his argument isn;t really correct, because you will not use your healing abilities while dpsing, so why should you be at a disadvantage because of it? This isn't wow, were there are carefully designed specs meant for a single role.

    Just to put something in perspective;

It is now abysmally clear that POTL is a DPS loss in raid, and you will actually pull more DPS by not slotting it.

Imagine now, if Warden didn’t slot Shalks, Sorc didn’t slot curse, or Nightblade didn’t slot Grim Focus?

This shows just how fundamentally flawed Stamplar is. Changes are needed. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Gilliam

    stamplar cant get worse
(ofc can be still worse but this will change literally nothing at all in overall in this game, if they will nerf even more stamplar this will have no change for everyone as how currentyl this is bad while buffs would change very very mach in playability of stamplars)
