How to get crowns for the PTS?

I started using the PTS in murkmire for testing and theorycrafting. Using the crowns for furnishings, race change tokens, and assistants over time, the 500 crowns I got at the start is running out. I bought a 750 pack but didn't get it. Is there another way to get the crowns I don't know about?

you should have about 5000 crowns when you first login, and they should refill back to that themselves each day.

As far as I know you can't buy crowns for the PTS, any you buy will go onto your live account instead. Which is good, because the PTS is wiped periodically and everything you've done on it will be lost - replaced with a copy of your account from either the NA or EU live server.

As @SaucyMcSauceface said everyone gets 5,500 crowns on the PTS (regardless of what you have on the live servers) and that resets every day. Although I'm not sure of the exact reset time. I spent 50 crowns yesterday and the balance today is showing as 5,450, but I'm in a different time zone to ZOS so it might be the same 24 hour period, even though it's a new day for me.

Well I'm not. This is the first I'm hearing about getting 5,500 a day. I don't have a live character because I play on console. Would making a character on live fix it?

Unlikely, it appears that the renewal of crowns is bugged, last time I went on PTS it did refresh daily, at present this is not happening, but it did refresh whenever the last copy from PC-Na was made.

Check again after today's patch & see if you again have 5500, and if it does (or not) refresh the following day after spending some.

If its like the past PTS, the amount of Crowns should be meaningless as everything should just cost 1 Crown each. It might be different this time.

Also, most of the reasons for needing crowns (riding lessons, bag space etc) should be covered by the Template Character's containers. Always roll a template, then you never need buy anything on the PTS

I think the worst is 2 (items that are ESO+ & discounted to 1 if you are)

There is no again. Other than the 500 crowns you get for starting the game for the first time, I''ve never gotten any crowns, ever. Not during murkmire's PTS cycles, not in wrathstone's, and I still haven't gotten any more. I don't know if this 5500 a day is a new thing or if I'm for some unknown reason not getting any. I wish I could just buy them or at least get my money back that I wasted on the 750 packs I bought that went nowhere.

You spent real money on Crowns for PTS?

Ouch.

You should just have 5500 Crowns on PTS, which is more than enough since everything costs 1 Crown.

You should file a ticket and ask for a refund for the money you spent.

Wait so you play on console?..... You know that console players cannot enter the pts(public test server) right?Pts is pc exclusive wich means you have been playing on the live server this whole time thus you do not get crowns everyday..... You have to buy crowns to spend on the love server.... And no the love server does not get wiped........ Unless zos screws up really badly.

I am not sure then what has gone wrong. If you are definitely accessing the PTS server, rather that either the EU or NA live servers, through a PC, it sounds like a bug. There has been a balance of 5500 crowns on the PTS that refills daily since the game launched. I have just tested it, and it appears to not be refilling this PTS cycle for some reason though. The balance of crowns on the PTS should not be related to the balance on Live in any way though. The 500 crowns makes it seem like you have accidentally logged into the Live server rather than the PTS server, but that would not explain why the 750 crowns you bought has not appeared.
Check that your launcher has the PTS option, and that it looks like this, and that you have definitely selected the PTS server:




I have tested, and you can definitely access the elder scrolls online store to buy crowns through the PTS (which seems like an oversight), but to actually purchase crowns, you should have to enter your User ID and password. You cannot buy crowns for the PTS though, so any crowns that you do buy would be credited to whatever User ID you bought the crowns with, and then accessible to any character on live that is linked to that User ID. If you sign into that User ID account on the ESO website, it should show that the 750 purchased crowns are attached to that account, in the same way that my crown balance is shown here:



Also, If you usually play on console, in order to access the PTS, you would have had to buy the PC version of the game, without which PTS access is impossible, and then change the settings on the launcher to be able to download the PTS, and have then downloaded and installed it. If you have done that, when you log into your account on the website, it should show that you have three active versions of the game as in this picture:



The options though, as far as I can see for what has happened, are as follows:
1. You have bought the PC game as well as the console version, and you have successfully downloaded and accessed the PTS, and there has been a bug that has meant that your PTS server has copied across the crown balance of your live account rather than giving you the right PTS amount, and has then failed to reset each day. If this is the case, everything in the crown store accessed through the PTS should only cost 1 crown, and the 750 Crowns you bought should now be linked to your User ID and be accessible on any character on the Live server. If this is the case, you should submit a ticket to ZOS letting them know that your PTS is bugged.
2. You bought the PC game, in addition to your console version, and have logged onto the live server rather than the PTS and have spent real crowns, rather than the PTS ones. In that case though, the 750 crowns that you bought with that ID should have appeared in what you thought was your PTS balance.
3. You have set up a different User ID for your PC game than the one you use for your Console game. You have logged into the live server on PC, but when you went to buy more crowns, you entered the user id and password for your Console account out of habit, and the crowns are available to your console toons.

People who actually play the game on console can of course play on PTS if they have a PC and an account.

I did. Quite a few console players use PTS, actually.

I submitted a ticket for it. 4 days later and haven't gotten a response. Sent another one about the issue. Hope it gets resolved. I can't set get other class templates ready until then. If they wipe the templates next week and it doesn't get resolved I might as well uninstall the PTS.
