Lore Question - History of Verkarth

Verkarth is one of the original 16 kingdoms of Elsweyr, as revealed in the new chapter's Museum quest. Verkarth is also a city in Hammerfell where the vampire lord King Styriche commanded the Gray Host from, before they were deposed by Hestra and killed at Bangkorai Garrison in 1E 1029.

As a point of reference, both places are originally from Arena - Verkarth City was a named settlement in central Hammerfell, and Verkarth Hills was a named settlement in northwestern Elsweyr. Since the Hammerfell one is present in ESO base-game lore, it was assumed the Elsweyr one was being ignored, until it reappeared now as one of the ancient kingdoms.

"Karth" is a very Nedic word, with origins in northwestern Tamriel around the Karthspire, river Karth, Karthwasten, and Belkarth. How does an ancient Khajiiti kingdom in the southeast of Tamriel share its name with a city in Hammerfell? Do they have some unexplored history from the First Era? Thoughts welcome!

Today I encountered some enemies with "Verkarth" in their name at a dolmen in Cyrodiil. There was too much going on to tell what they were, but they are probably the vampires from Hammerfell you were talking about. If not... there might be a 3rd Verkarth somewhere.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Yeah the dolmen Verkarth enemies are related to the Hammerfell Verkarth and the Gray Host; one of the dolmen generals is King Styriche, the Vampire of Verkarth himself.
