Gap Closer Snare

Please take into consideration that the snares from gap closers go through any immunity you have to snares with regards to increasing this snare to 60% from 30%.

As is the snare from this mechanic is so strong it literally stops you in place when trying to kite. Mobility in this game has already taken a huge hit by prior decisions as well. So please at least let people be able to move around without being gap closer spammed. Compounding this ambush now gives minor vulnerability which will make kiting from larger groups even harder.

I see this as a direct nerf to small/medium scale play style.

    Totally agree, 100%.

In 3 years of playing I never saw a patch rewarding numbers in pvp as much as this one. I seriously hope there will be something that will force the patch release to be postponed.

Sadly true. Way too cheesy and oppressive.
I was happy when the initial "slow" was reduced (it's more like a complete hold) and now it's being increased again.

This is the only thing of this PTS that I feel, should definately be reverted.

Maybe they should improve the tracking of gap closers instead of band-aiding a snare to them, but that's probably a engine limitation :/

I am also against giving gap closers a snare that even ignores all game mechanics. If someone did put so much effort in his speed that all gap closers fail it, he did sacrifice a lot for it. Gap closer should not always hit but bring you close to the enemy and if he out counters your skill with mobility - bad luck for you.

It also enables to zerg better players down if more ppl spam it on you, you will not be able to move.

Gap closers should not have a snare at all. Gap closers are fast so they should hit. And if the target spends resources to also move at a high pace then the gap closer is going to miss, and you will have to use it again. I don't see why gap closers should deliver more benefits per resource invested than gap openers such as streak or sprint.

The whole point of gap closers and gap openers is that they cancel each other out. Here the gap closers are way more potent than the gap openers, even to the extent that gap openers are completely useless if your opponent has a gap closer - unless you are sprinting around a tree / rock that is, and even then it might still be useless.

Gap Opener VS Gap Closer should essentially be a resource race if they are not used for strategic short-term repositioning to more favorable terrain. And even then, it should cost the fleeing party as much as it cost the chasing party to get to that new terrain.

Yup, I agree. People (especially in a zerg) can just spam a single gap closer and lock you down, and while the gap closer spam itself isn't bad if you were just fighting a single person, the fact that someone can do that in the protection of a zerg is rather annoying.
