Most of the proposed changes I dont have much of an opinion on. Some look good, some look bad but wont bother me. However, the one that instantly jumped out to me was removing major protection from empowering sweep ultimate.

I will never use that skill if you change it to an empower buff. This change seems like it is aimed solely at endgame pve...

The skill currently is extremely underrated and is so good in pvp, solo pve, and even templar tanking with war machine.

Please leave major protection on sweep!

The damage boost this skill is going to receive is crazy. I will be swapping dawnbreaker for it on my stamplar.

They add empower to skills they no longer care about. See Wrecking blow as an example.

Stamplar didn't need a damage boost. It needed what defense it had left in tact.

Most Stamplars were running Dawnbreaker. So this change has zero effect on defense for a Stamplar. Instead, it makes a class ultimate useful again for damage. Like it was before the last change that gutted its damage.

Again, just because most people dont realise how good this ultimate is doesn't mean they should make it a boring pure damage ultimate. There are plenty of pure damage ultimates already.

The major protection from this ultimate is extremely valuable and will greatly reduce my survivability in solo pve and pvp.

Also, if you look at the damage per ultimate does this skill even need a damage boost? It's an aoe ability so it doesn't beat ballista but it does more damage per ultimate currently than dawnbreaker and it procs burning light and all the other aedric spear goodies.

Except stamplars back bar this ult. So it does play a role offensively and defensively.

While the added damage is definitely nice, I have to agree that I think this is the improper direction to take stamina templar.

Stam templar is unique in that it's simply tanky as *** as a stam DPS with little investment as long as you run emp sweep. It has far greater EHP than any other class in PVE, and losing that for more competitive DPS seems like a defunct change that will only affect a portion of the playerbase that focuses on having no more defensive capabilities than mechanically required to begin with.

I'd rather see this skill have Major Mending added from it's current live build.

It is literally the only stamina ultimate available in the class. There are no other class options for damage. I'll take the class based damage boost rather than relying on dawnbreaker.

For someone PUGing almost all the group content they do like myself, I find the way the morph currently is to be extremely useful and I am not happy with the proposed change. It's an amazing oh-*** button on a number of situations, especially when I am running with a more utility-oriented load. I don't get why they don't go all-in with the damage increase for one morph and keep the defensive nature of the other one.

The templar Changes were just so uneventful i am getting to a point like why bother even playing it. 5 years of the same class i think its time to dedicate to something new and fresh

Exactly. Magicka templars already have nova as a class ultimate. If players really want a pure damage aedric spear ultimate than just change the crescent sweep to physical and leave the defensive version alone.

Major protection is such a valuable buff... much more valuable than empower.

I'm so happy with the new change.

I cant wait to be pulling higher dps while still buffing my group with war machine.

It is a nice change for pure damage group pve. It just sucks for everything else.

Major protection is such a valuable and effective buff.

Oh stop it lol. No one used the damn thing anyway. DBoS is way OP compared to anything else for damage. And other defense ults are better. Hell it's better you use DB for defensive opportunity than even old empowering

EDIT: Actually; nevermind. I was misreading the tooltip. It actually is pretty heavy offensive damage if you can stay on your target. So long major protection. Grinding the psijiic line up all the way for a defense.

Yup, this is one of two changes I saw that I was very unhappy about.

The dev comment claims that we can use that heal ultimate for major protection, but here's the rub. If I'm tanking in a dungeon - and my templar is my primary tanking character - do I really want to stand there helpless for 4 seconds while I channel? Of course I don't. Will it work for most of the content I do? Sure, I guess... but I also build characters around concepts or principles. He's not a healer. Him doing religious-looking healing spells will probably break something in his brain.

Do magplars even use crescent sweep?

My suggestion would be to just make both morphs physical so they can have one morph be empowering and one morph keep major protection. Then you would have one ultimate for physical, one ultimate for magicka, and one for healing.

The skill on live really is amazingly underrated. I get that dawnbreaker is good but the damage per ultimate is way higher on sweep and you can have a crazy high uptime of major protection with blood spawn. In no CP its incredible.

I'm probably fighting a losing battle because as many people have pointed out most players just use dawnbreaker but I'm still going to try to stop this because it's currently a very good skill and there are PLENTY of other skills in the templar lines that could use changes first.

Agreed. The protection needs to be put back on, or allow movement while using the ultimate. Standing in one place while channeling without major protection is suicide.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Your're thinking of Remembrance. This ult doesn't have a channel.

Oups, Templar’s an alt and I get the names confused.
