Fus-Ro-Dah: The overland dragon fights (no spoilers, just a few pics)

So it was hilarious and cool to see a player get Fus-Ro-Dah'd by an actual dragon. Couldn't get a screen of that, but the dragon fights feel interesting. They feel like a truly new part of the game, not a recycle (I get the value of recycling/reskinning and have nothing against it but something different is still very welcome).

Mechanically they are a bit simple, I suppose, if I had a first-impression criticism, but that isn't so bad.

About 8-10 of us fought for 5 minutes, some low level and some 810.

If it scales like WBs do in Summerset that would be interesting. And the broad conal AoE with severe damage might knock out parts of big blobs.

But a dolmen-farming type mob might eat it alive.

It just died. We aren't dragonborn

We're not Dragonborn. If we were, the Main Quest of ESO would be very different.

I think so, but there are no pinions or the equivalent. It lands and does lots of attacks, then bombs you while air-born while mobs are summoned to fight.

The mechanics are a bit repetitive but they're still kinda fun.

    This is what they drop:

Dragon's Bile Mellago and Dragon's Blood Calx are new alchemy ingredients, Dragon's Trinkets are vendor trash.

Yes, but the mechanics are different. Rather than facing waves of mobs and a weak boss at the end, dragons are just a single world boss-type enemy.

Cool - I thought'd they'd either be WBs or kinda replace dolmens.

Question is: was it the backpack that was half-digested, or the adventurer?

Actually why are the dragons only in Elsweyr... why can't they fly across the borders into the rest of Tamriel?
(I know it's the limitations of the game and having the chapter etc but still.....seems a bit silly to me)

I'm sure they'll explain in the story

But for gameplay reasons; mainly because the story of ESO doesn't go out of its way to revision previous zones.
The zones have to be played in order of release for the story to make sense and it doesn't help if you have dragons flying around at the same time as the daedric anchors

That being said, ZOS could take the flying boss idea and apply it to Daedric Titans as something to spice up old zones

How much health do they have? Can they oneshot squishy max CP players? Are they harder than the usual DLC World Boss or have any mechanics that prevents soloing them?

I've seen ones with 14 million and 16.3 million health. Their strongest attacks did 12k damage iirc. They're maybe a bit harder than Summerset or Morrowind WBs but easier than the ones in Wrothgar.
Mechanics are fairly simple but it can be hard to avoid all that AoE damage sometimes. It's very noticeable when the group doesn't have any healers. :p

You can sell it to a vendor for a whopping 100 gold... :p

A whole hundred gold! Ha. Dragon's Hoard looks a little better at least... thanks for linking that. :smirk:

Has anyone picked up blue or purple furnishing recipes off the dragons yet? So far, I have seen only the looting of green furnishing plans from inside either the green or blue half digested bags. Maybe there are purple half digested bags with blue or purple furnishing plans in them? I really hope so.
