Looking for an easy TANK build to get me started

Hi all.
I have been playing since the beta in 2014. I do OK with my healers and DD's, but I have never gotten around to rolling a Tank. Well, to cut a long story short I have decided to give it a go. I know roughly what I'm doing having run trials and dungeons etc in some pretty good groups, but am looking for some definitive feedback, tips, and advice from Tankxperts. So, if you're God of Tanking, here's your chance to share.
In particular, I'd really appreciate:-
Ideally, I'm looking for a simple build - I'm unlikely to go mad with vet trials etc until I learn my way and I know I'll need to build up experience before I really go for it, so an easy build to get me started in essential.

✭✭✭✭✭Its hard to go (wrong) with a Dragonknight using One Hand and Shield.
As you get comfortable with the content, 35k Health is a good amount. You'll want high resistances, which cap out at around 33k each.

Essentially, you will move from "selfish" builds to more group-oriented as you progress. Plague Doctor is a great set for beginners. I used Knight Errant when running overland content and practicing my tank abilities on mobs.2 -

✭In a good group you may get away with Alkosh, but in a bad group you're way better off with Akaviri Dragonguard. Easier to stay alive, and you're not dependent on others giving you synergies to buff people.
For body pieces Ebon or Plague Doctor.
Also:
- Nord > everything, because the amount of resists that Nords have gives you a lot of freedom when it comes to gear choices
- Stonekeeper > everything, because free 3-stat pots every 20-25 seconds.2 -

✭If you want a fun build, try combining Thunderbug with Grothdar monsterset. Every time something hits you in melee combat, you have a chance to proc an electric ring around you that does a decent amount of damage, and that, in turn, can proc Grothdar's AOE damage effect. It's quite fun for a beginner tank, although I would not use this setup in a trial. However, for overland tanking and dungeon tanking, it'll work. And it'll work regardless of what kind of tank you decide to make (except a mobile/kiting tank that is built to dodge/evade damage rather than absorb).0 -

✭Ebon, Akaviri Dragonguard and Bloodspawn are relatively easy to get and would be solid starter set up.
Nord/Argonian.
DK/Warden i would imagine are best.
Have higher stam than mag so shards/orbs give you stam.
I found when i tanked alot of it was knowing mechanics and knowing when you have to block. Saying that though the hardest thing i tanked was a few of the DLC Dungeons, i normally Heal in trials so couldn't really give an opinion on that.
