1 chapter 1 zone 1 dungeon is plenty already. Focus on server performance is needed.

We use to get 2 new story zones a year but that changed when they made chapters and did not want to give it to eso+ at the time

So now we get only 1 a year and still no compensation for it

Odd. I thought we got both Summerset and Murkmire in 2018. That seems to be two stories. Two extreemly very separate stories.

2017 brought us Vvardenfell and CWC. Again, two very separate zones and two separate stores. What was great about them was the larger thread that tied them, and Summerset together to create an overall longer and more complex store. But each stand on their own as well.

So your point seems lost in either translation or something else.

Be for chapters ever came out we got 2 dungeons DLC a year and 2 story DLC a year
in 2016 we got Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood
Now we only get 1 a year + a PAID chapter

How about a PvP DLC or at least not having half of the DLC's exlusively catered to the 1% playerbase which enjoys PvE group endgame? I would already be happy about another solo Trial at this point...

A Solo Trial like VMA is still technically the 1% though.

vMA is an arena, not a trial.

So, like DSA and Blackrose, just, you know, with only one player.

That said, a 12 man Arena would be pretty bonkers.

The dungeon DLCs are not interesting and (for me personally) has decreased the value of plus membership. I’ve cancelled my sub because I don’t want to be paying for dungeons DLCs that are full of toxicity and skipped storyline and an end of year DLC that is included in the daily rewards.

Hope they start spicing it up with more small/medium zone DLC

I do not understand,. We get 2 zone DLCs and 2 dungeon DLCs per year already. Unless OP is trying to suggest Zos put out 5 updates per year without gaining any additional revenue from many players.

The cadence of new content every quarter seems to work well. I would rather quality than quantity. OP seems to be suggesting quantity is better.

Hello @idk , if you read further into one of my follow up posts, I had emphasized that players are willing to pay and that DLCs are not free either way. I made no emphasis on quantity over quality. Quality 'and' quantity would have been implied.

How did people get suckered in with the "stories"? People actually that bull crap from Zenimax?

    This would be perfect:
    • Q1: PvP DLC
    • Q2: Chapter
    • Q3: Dungeon DLC
    • Q4: Zone DLC

    This would be perfect:
    • Q1: PvP DLC

    Close, try
    • Q1: QOL and PvP Tweaks/updates
    • Q2: Chapter
    • Q3: Dungeon
    • Q4: zone

I mean sure a PvP DLC would be neat, but lets be honest here for a moment, the amount of people that partake in PvP is far, far outweighed by the number of people which do literally..anything else, as a result having an entire DLC dedicated to it would be daft, as a vast majority of people wouldn't get anything in that quater.

First, you cannot expect people to read every post you make that affects the statement of the OP. That is why there is an edit function. One can even edit the title of their thread.

Second, it really does not matter if you think some players will pay for additional DLC releases as not all players would nor do all players have to. Many subscribe to the game and as such pay nothing more for DLC content. So this idea has some holes in it.
    Really, idk

Swapping out a dungeon DLC for a story DLC would be great for me, and get me to spend more money on this game. I always buy the story DLC and never buy dungeons because while I don't mind doing them I don't enjoy them enough that it seems worth paying for more of them.

But I also miss the variety we had in the second year (1st year had nothing new except Craglorn) before ZOS openly implemented a set pattern for releases. That gave us what I still think is some of the most interesting DLC content this game has had and it felt like more variety (including PvP content...unless you're one of the people who says the Imperial City is not 'true' PvP and therefore doesn't count).

I'm not sure how popular it would be with subscribers, who I assume prefer to know more about what they're paying for, but I'd like ZOS to go back to making whatever type of content they think would be popular or what's currently lacking instead of having to adhere to a fixed, predictable, schedule.

    What do you think?

2 zone DLCs per year would make the story (or the game itself, rather) less dragging.

Oh man, I am not spoiled or anything, I am just a supporter of ESO wanting more content and I really do think there should be 5 releases annually. I have stopped playing for a while after getting the Meridian skin from the Depths of Malatar, then the idle time spent in anticipation for the new chapter is just killing the game for me.

Actually you do get 2 story lines a year; the chapter becomes a dlc a year later. Last year we got a new dlc and morrowind as a dlc. This year we will likely get Summerset as a dlc.

Whether you buy chapters is s different matter.
