Well. Few actually. The amount of said player base that decide to complain about something is ALWAYS in a huge minority. ALWAYS. Anyone with half a brain looks at current development and thinks it's positive. not everyone is all doom and gloom like you lot.

I respectfully disagree. Minus the performance issues which should be their top priority, it’s the best MMO ever created in my view. That being said, the performance issues will be the trump factor that can get me to move on to another game.

Pantheon seems to be a new Everquest. The Enchanter class looks exciting and fun.

Round trip ping is what is used by your client computer to decide where the badguys are and what they're doing to you.

A higher ping time means the badguys have time to move and attack you before your client even knows they're doing it.
A longer ping time means you don't know whats happening around you while it's happening.

The complete ping time:
[time for your signal to reach the server + server response (the server timeshares you with other players before it even calculates a response -> more players means the computer spends less time paying attention to you) + time to return the response to you]
is only useful as a total number, and dividing by two is not only pointless but erroneous.

No I certainly don't believe they have done it intentionally. This is purely guesswork, but I am under the impression that they underestimated the numbers EU would bring in, and didn't have the server performance to handle it.

I think ZOS gets beat up too much by people assuming server side issues. All my guildies that routinely have problems admit to having poor internet. I think the issues are client side the majority of the time.

Removing subscription =/= 'We've lost players, so we don't need increased servers.'

Removing subscriptions means they can't expect to make money hand-over-fist without improving poor service back to acceptable levels that inspire players to re-institute their subscriptions.

If you want my money - earn it by improving degraded performance back to acceptable levels.
It's a beautiful game, but long loading screens, going through a wayshrine and coming out at a log-in window, and issues like taking 30 seconds per deposit into a guild bank when few other guild members are online is just stupid crazy to have to put up with.
And all of the above was before the events even started.

okay I didn't meant it as a command, I meant it as a suggestion to make ZOS listen, since they don't seem to care about server performance. And that post by Matt Firor doesn't convince me after years of bad performance.

To the people saying this would make the game shut down or that it would discourage server upgrades... no, they have put a lot of money and effort into this product, investment in servers to restore the player base is just business.

Also even though the playerbase is mostly casual, the content creators aren't, so they publish bad reviews about the game's performance that discourage new people from joining.

To people saying this is client-sided, yeah sure... that must be the reason why I can play every other game without any issues...

Don't get me wrong, this is the greatest mmo of all times, I just want it to be greater.

My rant is because I'm frustrated because I can't play my favorite game in which I have invested so much time and money.

What percentage of the playerbase has stated that they would prefer a performance patch rather than new content being released? And it's not only a software issue, hardware is a main issue here as well.
