It is time to reverse changes on bolt escape and to fix z axis issues

The game is different now. Sorcerers should be the undisputed masters of mobility in the game. It is class defining. Currently, that is not the case. To remedy this, should changes to bolt escape be rescinded?

In 2014, the developers of this game informed the community they were aware that there were issues with Bolt Escspe and the z axis in the game. A fix was promised. Five years later, nothing has been done. This needs to be fixed finally. It makes use of Bolt Escape a hindrance to mobility and works in the opposite direction of what would be the focus of the skill which is increased mobility.

disagree about its change, because the reason for "bolt escape", is to be able to escape and run away. its a defense.
instead it has been used as offence, and to be facing away from the opponent after its use, should remain as it is or you'll be too much damage.
    this isnt fair for PvP.

and also, i dont see how you think its fair to let sorcerers be the only one that has Master of mobility, and to even go as far as saying you think they should be the leading Masters of Mobility? i cant agree with that, thats not fair to the rest of us.

    not a fair request.

Are you including DK Chains in that fix or is just for BE?

First, which class is the master of mobility if Sorcs are not?

I cannot recall the last time I chose to escape on my sorc any anyone was able to catch me unless I was already almost dead or was already low on magicka.

ill agree to it if that after you cast bolt escape your damage is lowerd by 70% for 7 seconds
do the same with cloak, damage lowered by 70% for 7 seconds

do that, and then is deal.

I am not in agreement with OP. I am stated I think OP is wrong about the current state of Sorcs. I have no mobility issue on my sorc.

Even since the debuff they still spam it to zoom across Cyrodiil, then when they are 500 meters ahead of everyone else they just cast a few dark conversions to get all that magicka back.
As much as I'd love to be able to streak more on my stam sorc, I don't want to see the magicka counterpart buffed in any form.

Cost and whether it should be purely defensive is one thing that can be argued about. It still not working on upwards- or downwards-sloping terrain 5 years after release is just unexcusable. They fixed that issue for gap closers years ago.

Bolt escape gets the job done in Cyrodiil so the cost increase for spamming it should remain although it'd be cool if it could be used omnidirectionally.

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Not really sure I am following you. You keep mentioning z-axis? are we talking about -Z or +Z?
If your complaint is based on soming like... Stairs for example: streaking down stairs and then falling (-Z), when it should be following the Y-into-Z (Visual path) of going down stairs, I can agree to that, it should be changed as well when going up stairs and not getting stuck 3 steps up (+Z).

Now "Going in the opposite" direction... I'll assume -Y and +Y Axis. I'm figuring you want the streak to go in the direction your character is facing, and not the direction of the cross-hairs? If so... In all honesty, that would be slightly problematic due to you can just up your sensitivity and Spin+streak while still able to see where you're going and get the same results without blindly streaking into danger.

As well, Sorc's mobility is still pretty top tier given your race, gear, weapon and CP choices.

    Yes, reverse all changes
Anybody who thinks Bolt Escape is just fine needs to try using it to "escape" in the Imperial CIty. It's not like Cyrodiil where the landscape allows you to move for miles in a straight line.

The main problem is that you just don't move far enough, fast enough to escape gap-closer spam. There are other issues such as losing momentum in between bolts due snares, roots or bugs in Bolt Escape itself.

The exponential cost increase has always been ridiculously unfair, so that definitely needs to go. I'd be fine with a flat, one time, cost increase... maybe just 50% increase after the first cast, and that's it.

Yes, reverse bolt escape sickness but keep increased cost if used in succession
In three dimensional space, there is an x y and z axis (length, width and height)Streak does not adhere to the z axis. If you streak and the height changes you go forward and then fall when you should just streak down the terrain. It does adhere going up a hill but the distance you streak is noticeably less. I assume it is calculating based upon some mix of your scaling the terrain upwards as well as how much you are moving forward. The net effect is the streak distance vis a vis the terrain is less movement forward.

It should adhere to the terrain going vertically and horizontally. This can be foregone in some fashion based upon the angle of the drop off. For example, I shouldn’t streak down the wall of a vertical surface but should drop off but when running down a hill I should streak down the hill. (There could be some type of hard cut off based upon the angle of the zone geometry). I understand why they are having trouble coding it but they seemed to be able to do so with gap closers.
