Yeah, I've been jumped a time or two, which is why I dislike heading into the IC by myself except when I absolutely have to for a master crafting writ.

Someone posted a suggestion in a thread about farming Tel Var stones-- that you can queue up for a different campaign as a guest, and when you accept it you'll be back at your alliance's home base. I haven't tried that yet, but I've got some master writs that will take me into the IC again, so I might try it tonight.

That works a treat, actually. It's also handy if you should get stuck in the floor or wall - that's worked for me a few times.

Yes, queuing into a different campaign works. It puts you at your alliance gate.

This is a reason I always hesitate going near or into IC. I want to, I like it. But if I do...it's on a nightblade with cloak.

Though there is always a rush leaving a safe place, which is kind of exciting. But yes it does indeed suck when people do this.

I think it will take you back to PvE zone (as you queued to go to IC), not to Cyrodiil.

Some people buff up and pop a detection pot before trying to enter, others treat the forums like Facebook. I've died from this before, but I just went back and killed them back. It was quite satisfying.

I disagree. The gankers that hangout in the quest towns of Cyrodill are even lower. They are ganking mostly PvEers to begin with and on top of that they wait till their victim is in a dialogue window with the quest giver before making their move.

Got a boss to kill here in a arena (hard one) and I still can't do it, the boss is strong (i've only xp gear) and one idiot was camping me in the area each time I try.
Those guy are just moron who don't know how to play so they just kill easy target to feel good.
Just ignore them and do something else. You've these kind of idiot in every pvp game, so, not a big deal.

THere's a sigil that takes you to your alliance base. If you are carrying a haul of stones its the best way.

Ganking is part of the play, if they dull enough.to sit and wait there fair play to them. In events its profitable

Do you really think he was camping the IC door? More then likely he was looking to gank someone around the Castle and didn't catch up to till you got to the door. It is called PvP after all.

You never been? The PvE questline isn't bad, 6 easy dailies for good xp when i was leveling. An the hybrid PvP adds a spice. Plus its CQC/B and pre BG a faster spawn combat option to oveground. Pop makes it fun like in events, we'll see after Elyswer

this is one of the reasons why they are separating IC from Cyrodill. not the only reason but one of them.

and yes its a jerk move, same as killing someone just as they clicked on a skyshard inside the gate (you know the ones you can only get if another alliance holds the castle outside of those gate - the one that takes forever to get to, becasue even if its your alliance holding the gate, you will not respawn in those castles BY the gate.)

some people get their jollies from ruining someone else's day. unfortunately, by acknowledging them - you are giving them EXACTLY what they wanted.

Honestly, there's no way of knowing if it was someone truly lurking for a mark or merely an attack of opportunity from someone in the right place at the right time.


I had originally only found all IC skyshards on 1 character and more recently snagged them all on all 14 of my others (during the last midyear mayhem event in Jan). While doing that, out of the many encounters I had with other alliances very few were aggressive encounters. If it's more than one together, group mentality pretty much guarantees quick aggression from at least one of them. Solo encounters however usually resulting in them immediately leaving the vicinity. Despite many encounters, and countless chances for others to attack me or me them, it was pretty uneventful overall.

My favorite of the encounters was seeing a lone EP character just standing out in the open randomly in the sewer reading his map. While the temptation to gank was great, I thought it more entertaining to see how many circles I could run around him until he noticed. It was 4 until he gave chase. After losing him, I found him shortly after checking his map again. It ended up being an entertaining game for quite some time.
