Yellow Shield blocking indicator (On/Off) button within gameplay settings

Why though? You can already very clearly see when someone is blocking. And in a high octane situation with a bunch of player effects flying around, it is much easier to see a character movement/position than it is to see a partially opaque, muted yellow graphic floating in front of them. The only scenario in which it is actually worthwhile is being a visual cue for the shield ultimate.

I've always hated this stupid blocking indicator. When it first came out there was a lot of support for a toggle, but as usual, it all went ignored by Zeni.

Also I want to be able to hold a bow draw again. I've never liked that change either.

I remember this update rolled around about the same time ZOS implemented 'forced' heavy attack activation after the draw animation was complete for Bow heavy attacks, and while no-one asked or voted for it, the change was imposed upon the playerbase anyway. Putting on the yellow blocking ward was redundant on the player screen because obviously you know if your character was blocking or not; both by animation and by the fact your finger is probably holding right-click. Before the update, the yellow ward telegraph was only visible for when an enemy (i.e. player or mob) was actively blocking against you.

In retrospect, I'm convinced ZOS only introduced the yellow blocking indicator in the interests of continuity, under the logic that 'if an enemy's block animation features the indicator, so should the player,' but that's just immersion breaking, honestly.

Would definitely be nice, but they seem unwilling to hear the playerbase.

I never liked this effect. It was always quite easy to see when someone was blocking before they made the hideous block 'shield' appear in front of your character. Make a toggle or get rid of it.

I personally don't mind the blocking sigil. I just kind of wish you could select something other than the Glass Motif styled default. I like the idea of using class sigils just to give them a little more in-game presence.

For pvp purposes, this should not be invisible to other players, period.

Don't care if you want to turn it off for your view but it seems at bit silly. Just don't use it of you are role playing and it bothers you

So, you are telling me you can't look at someone without that and tell if they are blocking or not?

If it was a toggle that disables it for the individual player, which is what is being proposed, it should not matter to the opposing players no?

Or are you attempting to shame other players who do indeed want to know when their opponents are blocking more easily?

Because while I don't want to see it on my characters I certainly don't mind seeing it when fighting opponents.

Maybe it’s the block animation that’s been causing the Lag...
    All This Time!!!

    And ya I agree...
It should at east be a toggle if you want to see it or not.
*please note they are not saying that the
Toggle controls whether or not it appears on Other peoples system...just your OWN view

I think some ppl are misinterpreting it as a control of whether or not it displays you blocking to them.
If you want it... you see it.
    If not...you don’t

    I strongly agree on this.

Btw, don't mean to take the attention away from this thread, it's good others are also making threads about this since I really wish to see an option to turn this off in the future, but I couldn't find a poll when searching for it and I didn't know about this thread when I made the poll, so here's a link if you want to vote and comment as well, thank you:

I dont understand why the animation is even a thing. I could see it's use if ESO had a break block mechanic (outside of fear and other CC's/roots) where like, for instance, if you bash a blocking player they couldn't block for 3 seconds...but ESO doesn't have that, so I guess I just don't understand the purpose of seeing a floating shield indicating block....🤷‍♂️
