It’s like a virus. You put a HoT on a player, who then puts a DoT on several players. Now, as long as any of them are in combat, you will be too. Crap coding.
The combat bug is oofc... I was in shealth sitting on a rock by Arrius keep and had an ep sorc run by me not even close enough to open the eye icon, and it put me in combat. No aoe from him just the hint of being detected was enough.
God forbid if a pve mechanic is bugged they bring down the servers for a hot fix immediately... for %$&$#@ sake make it so we can mount or at least use transit while in combat. Do we really need to wait for a new chapter update to get this resolved... This $#@^!! Has gone on long enough.
Sorry for the rant but this one gets me salty af.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten
Combat bug has evolved. Sometimes when the combat bug expires and you try to log off, it resurfaces at the last second and cancels your log off. Best way to solve this is to port to another campaign.
Just fix the damn bug. No lazy work arounds. It worked perfectly fine around Summerset when you automatically left combat 30 seconds after last taking or dealing damage. And it should return to such a state again!
Actually, Zos has replied to this. However, last time I checked they have not pinned anything to the dev tracker to keep us updated and let us know they actually have this as a priority.
The first comment is below with at least one additional comment afterwards.
Edit: What I read into the second comment is Zos knows what they did to fix it but are not sure how to correct it without undoing the intentional part of the change. Remember, they made a change to prevent us simply moving out of combat for a moment and be able to change skills. My "guess" is the two are related, though it is just a guess because it was clear from the start of this game that information was poorly organized.
They already told that they don't give a *** until next major update.
No actually they didn't even said that they will fix it in Elsweyr, there is no deadline.
Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.
"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge
I have it mostly when I hang around in Bleakers. I am ungrouped, I don't attack anything. Bleakers gets attacked and even when the attack is over, I am in combat for at least 10+ minutes by just standing there.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."
Let us mount with our horse starting at zero stamina while "in combat."
And ZOS will never ever hear me complain about this stupid bug again. In fact, I'd want to be stuck in combat because that means I'll be able to generate extra ultimate. Yeah, a bug that's convenient
