Long weekend, was bored, remembered that TES had a MMORPG game, checked it out, downloaded the base game.
Download took over 2 hours, made tea, put on some music. Download finished, patching process began, started checking out the homepage in that time. It patched.
Pressed "play" and stared at the screen till all the company names passed, watched an intro sequence that i legitimately dont remember, made an account on EU, pressed character cration.
Selected male, a Breton to be precise, a Breton male magician. Started designing my character very seriously untill... I discovered a really hilarious mustache. I had to use it. Re-did every piece ive made just to make a white long haired, fancy mustache, a bit grumpy and skeptical magician that is also blind (white eyes), i was done, pressed confirm... my name was taken...
After thinking of a name that would suit me well for 20 minutes, i pressed "confirm" and entered the game, it loaded.
I was on a boat! I cant believe it! A TES game that doesnt make you be a prisoner right from the start!
A drunk guy approached me, he was cool, the ship crashed. Great... i was a prisoner...
Passed the tutorial that i didnt understand, i was set out to Morrowind.
Im in some docks, confused, lost, no minimap, no direction, free, scared.
Went to the town of the docks, sayda.. seida.. nieve? neev.. something like that, to talk to some angry dude, went to his back yard, absorbed a glowing diamond pillar.
Went to explore, it was dark, rainy, gloomy, giant mushrooms around me, and there, a foe.. a werewolf looking giant. i smite him with my puny attacks with a 2 handed blade, i stood no chance.. i ran away.
Im lost, i just follow the road, and there, a guy wanting me to do something inside a cave, i talk to him, god knows i cant remember anything he said or wanted me to do, but i do it, i enter the delve.
Im amazed. The cave is open, fauna surrounding the dank rocks behind them, crates and junk scattered across the path, people, Actual people running what seemed to be in terror back and forth while shouting like maniacs. I go deeper. Not too long i find my first staff, its a nice staff. I put some skills on my bar and i delve deeper inside the cave. I need to poison something?
But im stunned at the ave of this giant flaming giant, crafted from pure lava and magic, 4 people with me, we smite it down. I complete the quest.
Went back to turn in the objective. Talked to an Argonian, he said he deals in skooma, asked me to not rat him out. I did not. He was just as scared and confused in his game life, just how i was confused in my life on this game.
I check the time. Its late. I go to bed, confused, exited, intrigued.
I wake up. I boot up the game.
Its sunny, horses, bears, weird mechanical spiders are running back and forth, i knew i had to continue with the quest in hand.
I reach Vivec City and finally stop calling it Vice City. FPS drops to 30. I get sad. Repicked graphic settings fixed it to some extent, i was still pleased.
I ran around the city looking for everything, examining everything, and stealing something.
After some quests, sweat, i finally reach level 10. Battlegrounds.
I enter the queue, i ready myself, enter the arena, and got slaughtered. I was shocked on how different PVP was in ESO than i actually expected and was used to in MMOs. I need to go back again.
I queue for a dungeon, examine crafting stations, ran around the city, got a ready check, i was in.
I cant even remember the dungeon i was in, all i can recall is me running around and checking the map every 4 seconds, looting everything, doing little to nothing for my party. We beat the dungeon, i go back to the city.
I inspected the loot i got. Got confused from all the different stats an item can have, was scared to throw anything away, or even to sell a Multifaceded eye level 4 that i got as a monster trophy. I have it to this day. Its 13 gold.

Today? Im champion level 72. Have a mount, have my favourite vanity set. I have the hang of about 7 skills i use in combat, and 3 i use when i pretend to know what i am doing. The truth? I am to this day confused, scared, exited and interested, on what can be around that mossy stone in the distance.
Its been 2 weeks already, 93 hours ingame. Ive even unlocked Summerset, yet havent even completed everything in Morrowind.
I have a minimap, i know a few prices for items. Ive researched about 75 traits, turned off the profanity filter.
I am standing in Vivec City, writing this post, just to press "post discussion" and head back to exploring the fog of war. The fog is thick.

TL;DR
The game is amazing. At the very start you get a lot of information at once and it really overwhelms, and its a bit boring for a new player, atleast it was for me, combat was boring, places were MMO-like, people werent talkative, but about 15 levels in the game, it REALLY picks up and gets muuuch more interesting, the map exploration is top quality, the locations are amazing, just the loot... the loot is so disappointing.. i mean 1 icon for ring and necklace? really.. every item looks the (almost) same and it doesnt feel like theres variety in certain items. other than that 9.74/10 WOULD RECOMMEND (and did(and some of them got hooked in)) TO EVERYONE
@KaunasAoR

EDIT2020: Ooooh uuuugh.. right.. @colossalvoids and @Sylvermynx im sorry about this :D this post is a year old and i just replied thanking a lad who gave me the best advice ever. For context im at that point where ESO isnt what it was when i made this post, and im here to find a reason to come back again.. seeing your guys..es.. replies and re-reading what the profanity i wrote when i was a wee noob.. lads im coming back! Thank you :D too much negativity on the forums tbh.. bad place to seek reasons for coming back to the adventure some of us had here, glad to see theres still gold in all the silt

    Welcome to Tamriel traveller.

Take your time, do not rush, smell the nirnroot as they say.

This one hopes you are also planning on travelling to Elsweyr at some point. - much to see and to do first though.

Start your crafting research and levelling your skills - this takes time. Also start feeding your horse every day.

Take the time to read the quests stories, become invested in the narrative. Even the short ones.

The stories are good and characters you
had quests for will show up later in the manner you interacted with them. If you rescued them they will remember and be grateful. If you allowed them to stay a slave they will remember and curse you in later expansions / zones.

This is indeed a very good game.

This is is a good game. However, I do wish that first time characters would start in the original dungeon tutorial. It would have explained a few things, like that light pillar you activated.

Not all comedy comes in a joke. Seems if the experiences are real then what you wrote was humor not a joke.

After all not all comedy is a joke and all jokes are definitely not comedy.

I prefer the warm DRY sands in Elsweyr. One never knows when the sands maybe yellowed, especially in the lands of the Khajiit.

to be fair this game has the 2nd best delay time ive seen on a MMORPG. And dungeon finder bugs, bugged dungeons really arent that common atleast for me. And for balance.. eeeh it is very difficult to balance these things so i dont bat an eye on that one personally

Welcome to the game! Although I’ve been here for years, and have many max CP characters, I started up a new character on the EU server (I usually play on NA) where I have no gear, no CP, no companions, and no crafting abilities. It’s been a humbling experience! Where I can rip through an NA server public dungeon killing every mob without even paying attention, on EU I have to consider carefully whether it’s worth my time to venture inside, much less take on a boss alone. I haven’t been anywhere near PvP on EU—I’d be torn to shreds in mere seconds.

When one is used to great gear and full champion points, one forgets how challenging the game can be for newcomers. If you haven’t done it yet, OP, I recommend the main story quest, started by talking to the “hooded figure” if you’ve begun in Morrowind or Somerset. It’s pretty epic and will help you make more sense of the whole game world.

    Enjoy!

*laughing at self for not noticing original post date!* Sorry, it's early!

Welcome back then! and if you can stand some fairly dated graphics, Morrowind (TES: III) and Oblivion (TES: IV) are both very fun games. I didn't have your experience, though I'd played every TES since Arena released in 1994, so I had some background.

And as is normal for me, I read just about every post in the first hundred pages or so here before buying into ESO - so I already knew how to do the original MQ once I got through the MW tutorial.

Well i saw the date but it still a nice read!

Welcome back, it's surely can be disheartening place but most bad experiences are coming from our expectations so you can almost always find something to come back for :)

Would add to @Sylvermynx comment about Morrowind and Oblivion there are two projects in work - Skyblivion and Skywind, recreation of both games on a Skyrim engine so if graphic is a issue thats something to look forward for sure looking at how fast they progress recently.
