I toned back the buying "all the things" to samplings of items I will actually make use of. I am tempted because it could be fun to own one for events people use them for, but otherwise it would go in to the collections with all the other mounts and pets I never use.

Yup, and I adore it. Just got the horse cuz no way am I spending 350 gems, I find the dragon quite ugly anyway. It's adorable and silly and I love holiday celebrations so it was worth it to me. Also picked up the teleporting pet rock.

I had been really interested when they were first announced, but then the price and lack of speed upgrades turned me off. Then I heard another player riding theirs, and the character was making such silly neighing and whinnying sounds. It's really tempting again.

For me the silly sounds were just another reason not to buy it. But hey, if others are enjoying it, more power to them.

It was unique. Granted, no mount speed buff, but out of cyrodiil this will be my new standard because it is genuinely different as opposed to the next "must have" pet or mount that collects dust.

900 crowns is a little more than it should cost, but I bought it and am using it for this this event.

Edit: The stick guar will have to do until ZOS puts a basic economy class guar mount (700-900 Crowns) into the Crown Store. (As I recall, it used to be 500 Crowns, perfect for new players to spend Crowns on, but inflation and all...)

I bought it with gold, and even though initially I was on the fence about it, it made me laugh when I used it; the characters do horse whinny sounds when jumping, and they pet the horse when idle, and I just think it's really cute and funny how they are pretending it's a real horse. ZOS did a great job with the animations!

You're recalling incorrectly. Every basic Crown Store guar (Golden Eye, Banded Charger, Tessellated) was priced at 1300 Crowns.

Initially, I thought I would, even though the EP Dragon stick-mount is 350 Crown Gems. But then I found out that riding and stamina boosts don't affect it, and I changed my mind.

I wouldn't say I buy everything in the Crown Store, but I buy my share of stuff. There are some items I just love and that never changes (the Armored Knights bundle, for example) but a lot of things seem like a good idea at the time and end up not being used that much.

A silly stick dragon mount IS funny but it does still stand that it costs just slightly less than a full-blown Apex mount from a Crown Crate. It seems like a substantial waste to spend that much on a novelty.

I think they do. I'm able to sprint on the mount for ages before it runs out of stamina. So it's either not affected by your stamina skill, or they give you a heap of stam by default.

Incase anybody is wondering, you can also use rapids while on the "mount". If you're looking for something quirky and have the crowns spare, it's definitely a worthwhile purchase. With it you get; weird neighing sounds and spluttering to emulate a horse while jumping, a bow emote (like actors/dancers do at the end of a theatre show) when you press jump while still, and while idle your character just randomly starts stroking the stick mounts head.
